Panic and anxiety attacks can be a scary thing. A sudden onset of overwhelming fear, fear of being out on control, dizziness and a pounding or racing heart, difficult breathing or weakness and chest pain are just some of the symptoms you will feel when you are having a panic attack. Author L. Duhigg has written a book, "25 Ways to Deal With Panic", to help you identify what you are feeling. It also tells us about coping strategies that we can easily follow while having feelings of panic and anxiety. Some of the coping strategies in this book include going to a doctor to make sure this is what is wrong with you, correct and controlled breathing, calming yourself down, making a list or writing in a journal, reaching out to friends and family, and wisdom in seeking a qualified therapist or counseling. There are also a few charts explaining the process of a panic attack.

When I first saw this book I thought it would be another list of difficult things to do for someone who doesn’t want anything to do with lists. But after reading "25 Ways to Deal With Panic" I was amazed at the simplicity and ease with which the author teaches us to apply these ideas and tips in our lives. There is nothing simple about panic, but this author has created this book to make it easy to follow the steps. I actually tried several of the tips when I was nervous a couple of times and was amazed at the difference it made me feel. This book, along with regular check-ups with your doctor, can make a difference in your life.
