What does it take to get you to listen? What sort of tragedy might occur because you failed to listen? These questions are explored in the simple story of The Path to Reconciliation: A Christmas Story by Rita Pam Tarachi. When Anna’s daughter comes to her worried that her dog Ruby didn’t come in for the evening, they set out on a path to find the missing Yorkshire. As they start on their search, Anna can’t help but recall what occurred the Christmas before when she heard a woman’s voice answering her husband’s cell phone. Betrayed and hurt, she turned off her phone, packed her things, and went to stay with her mother. Though her husband, Richard, attempted to explain, Anna refused to listen and was soon on the path of a legal separation. Supported by her friend Ethel, who believed Anna’s story about Richard’s infidelity, she began to get on with her life. As she walked the streets with her friends and her daughter in search of Ruby, she couldn’t help but feel justified in her anger as she realized that she had experienced two losses within a year. However, there is a surprise lesson waiting for her as the search for Ruby leads them into a part of the town that she had never explored. Along with this discovery, there is another new discovery and an enormous lesson waiting for her.

Learning to listen doesn’t have to be taught in quite so harsh a way that Anna has to learn it in The Path to Reconciliation. With this simple, yet profound parable, Rita shows exactly why we ought to set our pride aside long enough to listen before we make assumptions. Honest, hard-hitting and enlightening, The Path to Reconciliation: A Christmas Story is certain to get you to perk your ears up and set aside your pride the next time you are tempted to make an assumption about a perceived wrong that has been dealt to you.

What i love most about this book is Rita has given out a gentle message that divorce is not an option. The other day my sister and I were arguing over this because she wanted out of her marriage. I encouraged her and gave her Rita's book. I am not a practising christian but i do know divorce for me is not an option, i am 35 now but when i do get married, i would want to settle down for life. Thanks for this inspiring book Rita

I support the storyline of this book. Divorce, addiction, emotional disorders, & crime are evidence of lives torn apart b/c someone decided to follow some plan other than God's.

Don't ever feel guilty when God is blessing u. You did your part & delighted yourself in Him & He is giving you the desires of your heart. STRENGTH doesn't come from what you "CAN" do! It comes from OVERCOMING those things you once thought you "COULDN'T" do! PRAY! RELAX! LET GO! Let God take over!! It works!! Promise! Nothing last forever! Not even your troubles! Today don't focus on what's wrong, focus on what's right!Simply by making the effort to start something, you will be miles ahead of almost everyone else. Take the time every day to be grateful, thankful for everything that you have. You can always have more, but you could also have less.

Do you believe a man can truly love a woman and still want a divorce? Why or why not?

anges amaka

I don't believe it. I don't think we fall out of love, I think we stop connecting emotionally or connect with someone else emotionally. He might believe he has "fallen out of love" but I don't think he did.

Elle O

need a lot of support. I'm going on 2 years of being divorced but I'm also remarried, have one child (7) from previous marriage and new baby (6mths) from new marriage. My oldest lives with his dad because I was pretty much homeless after separating and now he always talks about the new girlfriend and how she does things I cant do or how she does them better. Also he's started to get into this funk of not wanting to come to my house or if he's here he immediately wants to go back to.his dad's. I had a good breakdown this morning and I still want to cry about it all.

REBECCA

To have believed all this while that Love is unconditional?
What a rude awakening to this fallacy! We women rest on our oars in a relationship basking, over indulging, especially at this time of the year until....
You find out that your man's commitment to you dwindles on the numbers of the scale as you stand on the scale! How horrific!
Women NEVER rest on your laurels until an amendment is made to marital VOWS as thus:"FOR THINNER OR FOR FATTER."
70,000 men surveyed, and more than half said they will leave their partner if she gained weight! Don't believe me?

Shane

Divorce is a painful process as you need to grieve the death of your marriage. Allow yourself to feel what you are feeling and begin making new daily habits for yourself. Try to focus on what type of life you want in the future rather than on the past.

Labeeqa

I'm just starting the actual divorce stuff. Lawyers and all that. Anyway, long story short he cheated and he wanted the divorce. Very tough for me and our two boys, 12 and 9. Everyday is different. What is bothering me so much right now is my guilt over how broke he is going to be when all is said and done. I'm only asking for what I deserve but he doesn't have a clue! When it does dawn on him, it will be a harsh awakening. Why do I feel so bad for him after all he has put is through. I know partly is because of the boys. If this man wants to survive, he is going to have to get another job. That means less time with the kids. They adore their father. Anyone ever go through this?

Sigrid Bennett

Need advise my soon Ex is playing bogus games after me such as making false reports to CPS, Changing Child Support amount but then judge said he couldn't do it cuz it was already agreed how much he has to pay, Police and filing contempt saying I'm not allowing him to see the kids. Well if kids are sick I won't let them go cuz he's staying with his mom and she has a dog and my daughter is highly allergic. But, I've always made the time up on my days even longer then his scheduled time. I don't understand these games and fighting every week for some new bogus stunts he pulls. Why can't he just stop? Its bad enough I've discovered he's a Narcissist and Gas-lighter! I will never give up or give in! I haven't yet. Since I started Divorce in July. I just want it to stop!

Olivia

I am in the process of getting a divorce from my husband, and I am in need of some good encouragement. However, I want to know if this would be the place that I can get it from.

Nerissa

I am a separated woman who is and has received coaching from The Springfield Ministries, Minna. You may not know me, but we share some things in common. I have been struggling with self esteem and self worth issues for awhile. I have been in a deep depression for about 2yrs. With The Springfield team's guidance and homework, I have taken all those crazy thoughts and put them in their proper perspective. I am learning to prioritize, organize, and follow through. I am exercising, sleeping, and eating a pretty balanced diet. I am no longer focused on negative self talk but focused on tasks that empower me. Generally speaking, I am focused on me and filling my well of life.

marie

Really annoyed when strangers park in front of your house and snow plows have to go around them and then in front of my driveway don't get plowed!!!

Bertha

We did the joint mediation thing and have decided to work on the best care for the kids. I was pissed cuz in individual mediation she told me if he cared enough to have the kids overnight he should get a hotel. A month later the lady then told me to get out! What! Now she forgot what she told me in joint. Any ways I have realized that divorce is my best option. I just want to sign the papers and move on. Knowing his real feelings he just played family for years. I took the first step towards freedom. I still hate him. He is still threatening me and telling me what to do and where I can live. The purpose of divorce was just for no more control. Its been 15 years and I don't have a clue how to move on and find myself again. I do want to be loved again someday. I have to heal first.

Martina Lotley

I have no energy ever since the divorce started. How do I find a way to get some normalcy back into my life? I have Fibro. As well. There is so much I can't do especially now with all this snow.

Jane

Sitting at home alone. My son is with his dad. I'll probably fall asleep before the ball drops like every year before.

this is a new year for me and my divorce will be final in a few weeks, I just wanted u to know that without this page and the support, I have been told many times now that the last time my kids would see me was in my casket and that's something I can't let happen no matter what my ex tells them about me. I just feel lost bc I thought my kids loved me but all they care about is what they can get from me moneywise I'm always gonna be in therapy for my extreme PTSD bc of all of this, but this page helps me when nothing and noone else can bc they haven't felt or been where I've been and where my mind and heart keeps me. Thank u so much for all u do for everyone here. I promise u from the bottom Of my heart it's greatly appreciated

Evans

I can only imagine what you've been through. That is heartbreaking in every sense of the word. I am however happy to see you have pushed through the pain and have kept your head up. I wish you the best New Year to begin your move forward.
