Book Review
The Kabalyon Key is a great read. It reminds me of an interactive game where the player searches for hidden objects and solves intricate puzzles.
The Kabalyon Key begins with a series of seemingly unrelated mysteries. Each one offers the reader a clue. The reader has no idea where all of this is leading. I was immediately caught up in the mystery and intrigue. On top of that the historical facts strewn throughout the book is fascinating and makes this mystery realistic. Westbrook has included symbols, mythology, history, architecture, government sedition, conspiracy, and all the things I love in a mystery book. The reader travels to real places and experiences the history of the area. Westbrook doesn’t stop there he delves into social issues. The First Amendment comes into question. Separation of Church and State is closely examined. I learned astronomy, geography, sociology, philosophy, and mythology.
I’m always fascinated concerning how the author came up with the concept for a book. This one particularly intrigues me. The construction and concept are fascinating. Charles Westbrook is creative and extremely intelligent. The research and work that went into this book had to take years. This is not a quick or easy read. Some may struggle with this book. This is not your typical mystery; it is high on the intellectual rating. This is a very deep book and one that will leave you pondering. Take your time reading this book, think about what you’ve read. I suggest reading this book more than once. Each time you will glean another insight.
