Lemat is a struggling artist of the worst sort. Filled with talent that has thus far been unacknowledged by the professional world, he has just about decided to give up on everything in his life and become … average. He’s ready to simply fall in line with the rest of society and give up his creative gifts until he meets Guy. There’s something different about this man and his ideas, but those ideas just might give Lemat everything he’s ever wanted … if that’s really what he wants. Because success isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be and sometimes getting what you want really isn’t what you want at all. Status Quo by Henry Mosquera will keep you guessing what is the perfect part of life.

Understanding the life of a struggling artist is not difficult for most people. Nearly everyone has some creative streak that they either nurture or try to crush in order to conform. Imagining a life where you nurture that streak and want to succeed only to fail at every turn is disheartening, but that’s what makes Lemat such an intriguing character and it’s most definitely what keeps you wanting to learn more about his life. His success and failures are definitely something to be admired and the women who help him on his way - Talia, Lisa and Ink - are definitely more than passing fancies in his mind. Status Quo isn’t just about the journey to success. It’s definitely much more than that to a struggling artist.
