Charles Weber begins his book by defining salvation and offering six evidences of salvation. One of the most important chapters in this book emphasizes prayer. Weber identifies the five types of prayer: Praise, Thanksgiving, Confession, Intercession, and Petition. I found the chapter on Spiritual Fruits very interesting, since I had recently studied them.
A Little Guidebook for the Servant-Leader is a small book that is large on wisdom. Weber’s style is easy to understand and read. I am not sure what I expected when I began reading this book. The title made me think the focus was for Pastors, Deacons, or Elders; however, what I found inside was pertinent to all Christians.
As I continued pondering the title and text, I realized that Weber, like me, considers all Christians to be ministers. His purpose was to remind us that we serve the risen savior and salvation is ours if we accept it. He reminds us that the world is watching how we act and react. Our behavior reflects upon the church. Well done, Mr. Weber.
