Book Review
Claire was a successful psychiatrist. She was gifted, able to pick up images and emotions from others; she had no idea how strong her powers could be. However, over the last few years nightmares have plagued her. The most recent was more like a vision. She fears for her sanity. The day after her birthday celebration she found herself on the balcony of an expensive hotel. Suddenly an invisible force attacked her body. It threw her against the glass door. The hotel room was trashed. A handsome young man named Bruce was taking a shower. She demanded he leave. Her body was abused and bruised. She heard a female voice telling her to find Casey.
Bruce Carbone’s body was found in a dumpster behind the hotel. His father was Vincent Carbone. No one crossed Vincent and lived through it. Claire was a wanted woman.
Mr. Wilson arrived unexpected in Claire’s office. He handed her a manila envelope and told her he had made arrangements for her. She must go to Casey, a little girl with great powers that needed her. The documentation in the envelope showed a 7 year old child and told of her powerful abilities. The child was located in Kentucky.
Detective Kevin Dwyer knew Carbone would go after Clarie. He also knew someone much larger and stronger than her had committed the murder. He did not intend to let his only witness die, he accompanied her to Kentucky. Her search brings questions and answers. Who is Claire, Casey and Sonora? What are they?
This book begins with a bang and holds the momentum to the end. My one complaint is the editing. I found numerous mistakes. I suggest the author hire a good editor to search for misused words. The plot is excellent. It held my attention. The characters are interesting. Dark Recollections is a high octane read.
