"The Donkey That No One Could Ride" written by Anthony DeStefano and illustrated by Richard Cowdrey is a must-read and a must-have for everyone's collection! The donkey is weak and small and unable to carry anyone or do anything. The donkey is cast away by his owner as he is useless. However, two men find the donkey and take him to a man who speaks kindly to him and tells him that if he believes and relies on His strength then he will be able to carry the man into the city. The donkey believes and feels a change throughout his whole body and Jesus rides on him into Jerusalem as is the account that is shared on Palm Sunday leading up to Easter. Written in rhyme, this book focuses on the donkey that Jesus rides on and the book has a wonderful message for each person as everyone is weak and small without the strength, trust and hope that comes from believing in Jesus.

This is a beautiful, touching account that will be shared year after year at Easter time; however, the message is one that should be remembered day after day. The rhyming of the story allows it to flow very smoothly and it quickly draws the audience into the story. The illustrations are wonderfully done and are filled with detail. This book will leave each person reading and hearing it feeling good and capable of doing anything with Jesus' help. It is so easy to be discouraged and to feel as if you are not good enough or as good as someone else and this book will remind each of us that we are all special and worth so much.
