“Dear Coca-Cola” is a collection of letters written to various companies by Terry Ravenscroft and the responses he received from the companies. This is a collection that will have you thinking, laughing out loud and looking at products in a whole new light! A few letters include Ravenscroft inquiring as to the ingredients in coca-cola as he has friends visiting and he wants to be sure it is something they can and will drink. Another company that is written to is SPAM as Ravenscroft questions why a company producing canned meat has to send out junk e-mails as well. Others include questions about medical conditions, a recipe for fried MARS bars and his experience with attempting to create and eat these and what happens when he feeds some pies to a horse.
This is an entertaining book that is a great book to have with you to open up and read when you have just a few minutes to spare or an hour to indulge! After reading each of Ravenscroft’s letters, I found myself trying to guess the type of response he would receive from the company. You will be laughing out loud at some of the inquiries, but also at the responses. The “catchphrases” that Ravenscroft includes in some of his letters as suggestions to the company have to be my favorite element of the letters and the book! If laughter is the best medicine, then this book is one that should be prescribed for all!
