Middos, Manners & Morals with a Twist of Humor

The first chapter of this book caught my attention…Do No Harm!  It just happens that I am studying a small book called Three Simple Rules.  The first rule is to do no harm.  While the focus of Middos, Manners & Morals with a Twist of Humor is Jewish the message fits everyone regardless of faith.  Joe Bobker shares Yiddish words.  He explains their origins and meanings.

One chapter discusses choosing friends carefully.  “There are three kinds of friends…One like food which one cannot do without; one like medicine which you may need now and then; and one like pestilence which no one needs at all!”

The chapters are small and most read like an expanded proverb.  There are many quotes.  There are also a lot of jokes.  The jokes are a little corny yet I laughed.  The pirate joke had my grandson giggling.

Middos, Manners & Morals with a Twist of Humor is actually common sense.  Being concerned for others, honesty, respect, and forgiveness are just a few of the topics covered.  Joe Bobker takes a unique approach at teaching the world what should be natural.  I like this book.  I like the approach the author took.  I highly recommend this book to others.
