Palos Verdes Blue is John Shannon`s eleventh Jack Liffey novel... Shannon decides to bake a pie. He calls it Palos Verdes surprise. He took the following ingredients and mixed them up well: One finder of lost children, a seasoned Jack Liffey. His daughter,Maeve, a mixed up teen trying hard to do the right thing. His lover, Gloria, a cop with serious job-related issues. Jaime, a young Mexican deportee, who loves to surf, becomes Jacks` friend and tries to help him find "Blue". "Blue" Hostetler, a rich girl who stuck her nose in the wrong beehive. Jack searches for her...will he find her? "Twitch", a surfer, a gang member and someone perhaps in tough shape. A Vietnam era explosives-trained drop-out nut case, "Ledge", a legend in his own mind. and a few other minor characters thrown in for a little spice.... Shannon sprinkles the top of his pie with turf war, racial hatred, topsy-turvey feelings, border hopping Mexicans  and near extinct butterflies . Out of the oven pops  the piece de resistance, Palos Verdes Blue !
