This is the first book I have read in this series. I was quickly amazed at the world Tabitha Shay has created. There are several realms.

The story opens humorously with Dracula sleeping in his coffin. He has retired from the world, no longer feeling challenged. He awakens to his great grandson’s desperate plea for help. The young man has had a vision of war between the Vampyre, Demon, Witch and Were. He fears the defeat of the Vampyre.

Her heroine is Shasta, half were and half witch. She was preparing for a trip to the mortal world. She would travel on her up-to-date red-and-blue Stream-Lined Besom, broom, fully armed with stakes, garlic and other necessities one might need when fighting a vampire. Her best friend Princess Kali was missing. Kali was kidnapped by Captain Koran and taken to the mortal realm. Shasta had never been to the human world. Shasta has a long haired taking pot bellied pig named Pinky. Pinky is her familiar. The vampires live in the mortal realm for feeding purposes.

Prince Valerian dreamed of the woman, she haunted his dreams, “his beloved, his mate, his enemy.” He knew she was coming intent on killing him. So begins the struggle between two lovers drawn to each other, yet sworn enemies.

Tabatha Shay is an extremely talented author. She not only creates a world with many realms, she creates characters that have unique personalities. They are realistic and entertaining. Her writing combines wit, adventure and romance. Her paranormal books are distinctive and sure to please the most discriminating reader.
