This is the first book of the Savant’s Blood series. Author, Will Greenway, offers readers a book filled with mythology. Hecate is the Goddess of the moon. She captures 8 year old Liandra Kergatha with plans to use her body. Liandra manages to escape before Hecate enters her. The child has no memories, who she is or where she is from. She takes on the name Wren and develops many powers. After ten years, Hecate once again tries to capture her. Wren seeks help from other magical creatures in her battle against Hecate.
Will Greenway filled his book with magic, fantasy and interesting characters. The plot reminds me of a comic book. This book’s target audience is juveniles. I saw several editing/proofreading errors. The characters are interesting and the plot is high action. Fans of fantasy will enjoy "Shadow of the Avatar".
