Book Review
Words are important to Leo Shelton. He obviously enjoys expressing his deepest thoughts through poetry. I his latest collection of poems, D’liberate Ramblings, he begins by conveying his need to express himself. He compares words to music. Just as a great musician can articulate through music a poet “There is music in the syllables.”
In his poem “Get Mad” Shelton expresses his anger at his mate for the small irrational things that annoy him. Such as making cool-aide but the pitcher is empty when he goes to drink some. He is irritated when woke up to see if he is asleep. Then he realizes how minor those things are and that true anger would come if his mate wasn’t there.
Award winner Shelton truly has a talent for expressing himself through his art. Fans of poetry will cherish D’liberate Ramblings.
