The Pioneers is filled with stories that will warm your heart. In each story, you will find a bit of a miracle. In “Bread Alone”, we read of an extra loaf of bread, a cloth, and a prayer. “Tied to A Horse” shares the tale of a young boy traveling home, tied to his horse. The connecting thread in each story is pioneers. Each story takes place in the “Days of the Pioneers.” Miracles are happening around us constantly. It is unfortunate that we are not watching for them.
Shirley Bahlmann is to be commended in sharing a bit of little-known history with us. She has a pleasant style of writing, holding the reader’s attention. Readers will enjoy The Pioneers.
