Norm Cowie has a wicked sense of humor! Just the title of this book is enough to make you think, "Wink, Wink! Say no more!" If you think of The Flintstones for world-weary grown-ups, then you have the essence of this crazy little book. It is obvious that Mr Cowie has little time for politicians, especially those who rely on their experts in spin to carry them through. The story could easily translate into our modern world with its weapons of mass destruction and its mindless leaders who, themselves, are being led by the shadowy figures carving out their own little empires behind the scenes.
This book is a battle of the sexes (the women always win of course!), a political commentary (we only get the government we deserve), and it takes a well-aimed swipe at organized religion (as any social commentary should).
Once the reader gets past the slapstick and corniness, Norm Cowie delivers a serious message: after fifty-thousand years of human enterprise and development, are we really any better than our cousins still living happily in the trees?
