What, what, what??? Randy Kazandy is a story about me! How did the author know I did all those things with my glasses??
So touching and memorable. I know getting glasses very young is tough, tough, tough! Where was Randy when I could of used him to lean on. When kids use to take my glasses and throw them in the field, was terrible for a first grader. I hope Randy Kazandy embraces all kids with and without glasses. We need little heroes to help with our band-aid moments, young and old. Bravo!

Endearing and genuine, Randy Kazandy is a character that every glasses-wearing child will relate to and draw inspiration from. His story doesn’t hide or minimize the negative emotions that a child goes through when getting glasses for the first time. I wanted to let you know I read Randy Kazandy to all of my first and second graders in the library. They LOVED it! I had a couple of classes who applauded at the end of the story. It led to a great discussion about glasses, and we have several kids who wear them, so it was super! Great job! All in all, the reaction to the book was wonderful. Here are some kids' comments:

The only negative comment they had was that the cover didn't match the story--he never put his glasses on the dog. I know other books do that, but they were quite upset about this!!

It went very well. Congrats! They are excited to see Randy Kazandy once it is a "real book," (this made a great two part lesson on how books are made!) and we would love to get a copy!

Randy Kazandy helped my son with transition into his new glasses? He use to hide them before we got the book. Now he wears his glasses with a smile on his face and Randy Kazandy is now under his pillow where he keeps things he loves. He kisses Randy Kazandy every night. Please make a Randy Kazandy doll. We would LOVE That! Kudos to Rhonda Fischer for making parenting much easier, especially if a child needs glasses!
