Book Review I’m considered a Baby Boomer. My children look at me as old…I’m a mere 55 years old. I could well live into my 90s if I take after my grandparents. I intend to live my life to the fullest.
Baby Boomers have taken sex out of the closet. No longer do we expect our sex life to end in our 40’s, but we expect it to continue into our 80’s. Hurray for baby boomers!
Maria Grazia Swan offers readers an honest look at the life of baby boomers. She shares true stories, mostly about women and their "lust for life." Swan includes essays on some celebrity baby boomers. I particularly enjoyed the one on Naomi Judd. Written with lots of humor and zest, Swan captures the essence of women over 40. It is easy to highly recommend this book. I loved it, and so will most women. |

Boomer Babes Rule!
I couldn't resist reading this book and my impulse paid off. I read with delight and just kept reading, and got my friends to read it too. I've now read the book twice, and will read it again because the stories are that delicious. The tales of Boomer Babes made me laugh, reflect, sigh with envy, and laugh again. I'm a born voyeur and this book let me peek into lives of women who still have the pizzaz and energy to enjoy life. Age makes them smarter and sexier, and their wisdom gives them courage. We can all learn a lesson from these daring and attractive women who know how to live life to the fullest. Highly recommended.
Also recommended: Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Love Thy Sister by Maria Grazie Swan. Anything by Donna Leon, James Lee Burke, Michael Connelly and all the Dexter novels.

Post WWII. Generation "Baby Boomers" proves how glad those returning GIs were to see their wives. Between then (1946-1964) and now, a fair number of those Baby Boomers have morphed into Boomer Babes, and some of those Babes have morphed into cougars, with long, well-manicured claws. Let's omit further reference to Time, that hoary [sic] creature sporting a sceptre and having a bad hair day. Ladies are sensitive about such things. But hey, a stitch here, a pleat there, and even Boomer babes can look terrific well past bedtime. They have to, to keep up with their libidos. Whoever thought that sex goes out when senior discount eligibility comes in should read Award-Winning Author Swan's latest dirt-dishing digest on the sex, lies and romeos of Boomer Babes you know and love (meaning, celebs like Sharon Stone, Stevie Nicks, Whitney Houston, Danielle Steel, e.g.), and some you don't know, but might like to. Now I understand why "Sex and the City" is so popular. Boomer Babes is a kind of "Sex and the City" whose heroines are forties-, fifties-, even sixties-somethings and still going strong. And, like that sexy show, Boomer Babes also plays to a puerile American viewing public with its legions of voyeurs. Among them you've got your Lovers, your Trailblazers, and your Diehards. Juicy! Which one are you, dear reader? Take the quizzes and find out. With Boomer Babes you don't just get the dirt, you don't just get to sublimate salaciously, you get to find out where you fit in, or will, when you reach the place on the chart where those lusty, sex-loving babes hang out. It's great fun, a perfect summer read while you're lying in the shade on the chaise, peering over the top of the page at the rippling, sweat-slicked muscles of the perfectly tanned pool boy as he strokes the azure water with that long, probing pole, making everything ready for the next satisfying dip....

What a fun read! Maria Grazia Swan has done it again. I attended one of her book signings and was charmed by this talented author. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these great "Boomer Babe" stories were autobiographical! Live vicariously through these wild tales or maybe they'll even get you off the couch to create a few tales of your own! Don't hesitate to order your copy now. Soon you'll be buying copies for all your friends!

In these times of uncertainty and economic woes, when none of us know what tomorrow will bring--or not bring, for that matter, I decided it was time for me to pick up my copy of Maria Swan's "Boomber Babes--True Tales of Love and Lust in the Later Years.' I was definitely ready for a good laugh, and I had a feeling that Maria's book would provide just that. And laugh I did, as I followed the true-life journeys of 'Maria's Women,' through thick and thin, marriage and divorce, through celebacy and love, true happiness and pain. What true grit and a lust for life and love they all had. Even though I haven't been single myself since I was twenty, I could somehow relate to each and every one of her characters, several of whom I'm certain I know. Let me tell you, if you are in need of a good genuine laugh, with celebrity trivia and real-life quizzes thrown in, then this book is for you. It's a perfect take-along book next time you board an airplane for a long overseas flight. After hearing your laughter, all your co-passengers will certainly want to know what you're reading.
