Book Review
Reviewed by Lynn F. for Readers Favorite

'Night Corridor' by Joan Hall Hovey is one of those books that will have you looking behind you as you read. The main plot of the story deals with a woman who is set free after nine years into the real world. Caroline Hill, who had her baby taken away from her when it was born, suffered a mental breakdown and has been in the Bayshore institution. Now at twenty-six, she is set free and the real story begins. With her meager possessions and a little money in the bank, they had found her an apartment and a job. The day she is released another victim has been found. A serial killer has killed two women who resemble Caroline’s exact appearance. Determined to make a go of it, Caroline must get a grip on herself and reality. Sure it was safe in the institution; now she is not locked in her room at night, no roommate to listen to, no security. Can she heed the doctor’s advice and be strong? Can she fight the fear she feels? As more women are murdered can they get to the bottom of this before Caroline ends up a victim?

'Night Corridor' is one of those psychological page turning suspense novels that grab you from the first page and will not let go till you reach the last page. Written in the style of Mary Higgins Clark or Agatha Christie, the book is easy to read and the author seems to draw you right into the plot with the characters. As I read it I felt like I was right there with Caroline feeling what she felt. I could not stop reading as I had to find out who the killer was through the many twists the plot took. If you are one that likes a good written mystery then I highly recommend 'Night Corridors'. I guarantee once you pick up this book you will not want to lay it down and just might catch yourself looking behind you. This is the first that I have read of this author's books but I will be looking for more of hers in the future if they are written anything like 'Night Corridor'.
