My girlfriend bought me this book and I love it. It answers so many questions without being scary. I feel like Tori is my own personal nurse. The information is complete and upbeat. I look forward to going through my pregnancy with this boo

Now that I am pregnant with my 2nd baby after 7 yrs. I am so happy to have found this book. I love the tone and the information doesn't make me more nervous like the other books did the first time. I am recommending this to all my friends too.

This book has an optimistic, realistic, straightforward, realistic approach. At the same time it really covers everything you need to know. I felt like my wise best friend who happens to be a R.N. was sitting me down and fumbling through the mess of information for me. All the work was taken out of digging through disparate viewpoints, leaving me with the unbiased facts. I especially loved the Things you'll need section... It was one of the only books that didn't mention specific brands, just told me what I will need and why. The why's are important to me. This woman knows her stuff!! The only book I'll buy for my expecting friends!

I was dissuaded from reading ANY pregnancy books because friends told me that the majority of them focus on unlikely scenarios and kind of deprive you of some of the ecstatic, joy of pregnancy. My need to be informed won out so I picked up this book quite truthfully because I liked the layout and because it was the only book that no one I knew had said anything negative about. I am glad to have read it and have shared much of it with my husband who doesn't know what to read and my sister who is also expecting her first.

I bought this for a friend as a baby shower gift. I'd intended to get the old standby, 'what to expect', but I found this to be a more relevant guide, with humor AND great info and tips written from the point of view of a labor and delivery nurse who is also a mom. I've had three kids and would have loved to have this at my bedside when I was pregnant. Highly recommended!!

As an RN in labor and delivery I am always on the lookout for a book to recommend to friends and patients. I especially liked this one as Tori is actually a working at the bedside in Labor and Delivery nurse and brings that perspective to the book. I even learned a couple of things!

My doctor recommended I read this book and its just exceptional. After finally getting pregnant with IVF at the age of 40, my husband and I are expecting twins! Kropp educates you with first hand knowledge as a nurse in a reassuring way. At my age, I was worried that I was high risk but I feel more confident about maintaining a balanced and healthy pregnancy after reading this book.
I have recommended it to all my pregnant friends and we even picked it for our book club.

As a labor and delivery nurse I was looking for a book for a friend who was pregnant with her first baby. I found this book to give very good information that was easy to understand. I really liked that it doesn't shame or scare the new mom for the choices she makes during her pregnancy and birth process. I highly recommend this book.

This book was informative, enjoyable to read and reassuring. I liked the down-to-earth way Kropp explains what's happening to me and my body. It's refreshing to read a pregnancy book that is full of helpful information without focusing on all the things that can go wrong. I especially like Tori's Tips. I highly recommend this book.

My doctor, as well as a girlfriend told me about this book. I really like it. It is written by an OB nurse and I feel like she is talking to me. So much makes sense and the best part is that I feel normal when I am reading it. It is divided up into chapters that are the same as how many months pregnant you are. My doctor says the information is "right on" but for me, it feels not at all stuffy and very personal. I love that Tori Kropp talks about her own birth as well as the experiences of so many other women. I wish I had only bought this book!

I'm in my first trimester with my first baby - I love this book! It makes me feel like everything I am experiencing is normal. Some of the other books out there make pregnancy seem so scary, but this book has a lighthearted, yet very informative approach. I highly recommend it!!
