The Liberation Diet is unlike any diet book you have ever read before. Kevin Brown and Annette Presley offer a practical look at eating. Those of us who struggle with our weight have heard all of the myths concerning dieting. Brown and Presley share the truth. They discuss additives, carbohydrates, and low-fat foods. The Liberation Diet steers readers to eating natural foods.

I have tried a lot of diets and few work. This diet works. You will lose weight and feel better, your energy levels will be higher. I want to lose weight but more important to me is feeling healthy.

I know one of the author's of the book and at first when she told me of it I was skeptical because of all the information doctors and dieticians have given me over the years. This was opposite of everything they said but the more I read it the more it makes sense!

With all the information readily available worldwide regarding healthful living and proper nutrition, how is it the USA's rife with heart disease, obesity, and an ever-burgeoning health care dilemma? The Liberation Diet is an absolute "must read." Unfortunately, we've been intentionally programmed by the food, medical & pharmaceutical industries with misinformation and myths that have almost destroyed our national health. Authors Brown and Presley navigate through the minefield of misconceptions surrounding low fat high-carb diets, soy additives, pharmaceutical medications, good cholesterol laden foods like butter, eggs, and saturated fats, coconut oils, salts, sugars, and proteins, as well as water consumption and exercise with just plain old common sense, profound (often forgotten) research, and hands on experiences. Frustrated Dieters Beware: The Liberation Diet WORKS!

I've never really been a big dieter so, I've never really read any diet books. This one was a first for me. The Liberation Diet seems like a diet that just about anyone can do. As with any good diet it does require a lifestyle change, but with any weight loss program if you're not willing to alter your lifestyle to get results, you're probably not going to lose weight.

The book starts out with some common myths, and then dispels them. Things such as don't eat saturated fats and eat high amounts of carbohydrates (like bread and fibers). Therse is evidence to back up their ideas as well. The book also talks about how these common diet myths came to be and why, even though they've been proven wrong, the government and those in control want us to continue to believe the myths.

The book does give recipes and a diet plan to follow, but in addition it helps you plan the steps to living a new healthier lifestyle. Things such as cleaning out your cupboards, what to stock up on, and what types of kitchen items you should have on hand. I haven't tried the diet yet, but it does seem like one that could be effective.

I guess as with any diet you have to decide if you think you can stick to it. You also have to decide for yourself if you feel the authors (a nutritionist and a personal trainer) have done their jobs in coming up with a healthy program. I personally feel this could work, but that's just my opinion, you have to come up with your own. But if you think this is the one, this book gives you all the information you need to get started.

Plagued with gastrointestinal problems since the age of 27, I have tried numerous diets, medications, and alternative remedies with little success. I really didn't expect that The Liberation Diet would be any different. But, if I had this information back then, I could have spared myself years of suffering!

I was skeptical at first, especially the part about drinking raw milk. Like most people, I had been programmed to believe that real milk was somehow dangerous. I was also convinced that I had to consume huge quantities of fiber each day to stay "healthy." Over the years, I kept wondering when the bloating, cramps, and pain would disappear.

Then, I had the opportunity to meet one of the authors, Kevin Brown, and hear his amazing presentation. Some of his suggestions seemed rather strange. How could I possibly eat eggs, bacon, butter, cheese, and red meat? Wait, I love all those things, but won't they make my symptoms worse? I thought, "What have I got to lose?"

I started gradually by changing one meal at a time. For breakfast, instead of my cardboard-tasting cereal with low-fat milk, I had farm-fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, and real milk. Over the next few weeks, I replaced my high-fiber bread and fiber supplements with more real dairy and proteins. I added some Greek yogurt and kefir as a snack or for those rare times when I felt hungry.

Talk about a liberation! I noticed improvement during the first week, even though I was only making slight changes to my diet. For years, I had to plan my day around meals and proximity to bathrooms. For those who suffer with GI problems, you know what I mean! But now, I'm free. I can eat whenever I want - including only two meals a day without being hungry - and go on long trips without fear.

So, if you're thinking about joining me on The Liberation Diet, here's a simple test. Read the book and gradually change your diet to real food. Then, go back to a high-fiber diet loaded with other carbohydrates as suggested by the USDA "food pyramid" and observe what happens. That sluggish, low-energy, bloated feeling will prove which is better!

You will be astonished at how different the information is, yet how easy it is to follow and why it completely makes sense. I predict this book being presented on Oprah some day. I am a Personal Trainer and I have utilized this diet with my clients. The results have been rapid and extremely effective. If you stick with the diet itself irregardless of exercise, it will still make you lose weight. I am so glad the authors of this book have made this available to the general public and I am looking forward to another book with more recipes in it.

This is the scared straight of diet books. Who knew that chemicals and additives lurk in foods that are touted as healthy? I had read many of the facts in other diet books, but this one gives the history behind the horrible things manufacturers put into the food we eat. After reading this, I am trying to cut back on the chemicals and reading labels more carefully now. So far I have lost a pound and I am not starving either! The best part? Butter! I am eating more unprocessed foods and feel better than I have in a long time. I still haven't located the raw milk yet as recommended, but now that I know what fat free milk really is, YUCK.

This book provides more of a life plan than just a diet. I did lose around 40 lbs on Weight Watchers, but I was starving constantly and felt crappy. I tried the Schwartzbein Principle, but I couldn't get past all the rules. It is easier to cut out the fake foods and eat real things instead. Stay tuned...I have four pounds I want to lose still and at least this plan lets you feel better while doing it.

I have a clean and fresh start with my health, finally. The Liberation Diet has allowed me to understand the misleading information we all have been subjected to for so many years. As a Holistic Nutritionist, I too have suffered with many ailments, the latest being Bell's Palsy. I have been eating like a tiger for a 3 week period now.My aches and pains have vanished and I have lost weight by eating real food vs fake food.Kevin Brown's enlightenment on the subject of food and it's history are astounding.By page 19, I cried for humanity and all the pain children and the aging have suffered from diseases that food has caused.
