In Betrayed by David Van Zummeren, Cameron is a CIA operative. Nicknamed The Machine, Cameron has been trying to catch The Ghost, who has been wreaking havoc, but no one seems to be able to find him. Always in disguises, The Ghost has been able to keep his true identity a mystery. When Cameron suspects that The Ghost may have an ally within Cameron’s team, he feels absolutely betrayed. In an action-packed story full of suspense and intrigue, Cameron will stop at nothing to not only capture The Ghost, but to also take down the person who has betrayed him.

I am still recovering from the ending of this book. Betrayed truly kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Full of intense scenes and surprising twists and turns, this book would make an amazing movie, which is what was constantly running through my mind as I was reading. The unpredictable plot kept me guessing right up to the end. I never knew who to trust and who to suspect. There were several characters, who all added something different to the story, which made it that much more intriguing. David Van Zummeren is such a great storyteller. He knew exactly how to keep the story consistently exciting. My only issue was that I wish there was more of an explanation as to why and how certain things happened at the end. However, I am hoping for a sequel. I would absolutely read it in a heartbeat. Actually, I would read anything written by David Van Zummeren. I hope to see plenty more from him.
