What happens when a very successful entrepreneur with over 4,000 real estate apartments suddenly hits the floor, finding himself enmeshed in a staggering debt of $26 million? Many people who experience such a fall would file for bankruptcy, pack up, and quit, but not the high school dropout turned millionaire and suddenly reduced to penury. Burn Zones: Playing Life's Bad Hands by Jorge P. Newbery is a fascinating memoir that chronicles the key moments in the life of a committed serial entrepreneur who builds his wealth so fast that his financial success easily falls apart. What is most astonishing is the way he picks himself up and puts the pieces back together. At the age of 7, Jorge already had a knack for building wealth, starting off as a newspaper delivery boy and working his way to becoming one of the country’s youngest real estate entrepreneurs. But his hard-earned wealth would be pulled down by a storm that hit the country in 2004, leaving him shamed, heavily indebted, and utterly devastated. How he pulled himself out of the mess is the biggest lesson this book offers.

Burn Zones: Playing Life's Bad Hands is a memoir that’s unlike any other I have read. The author writes with simplicity and humility, offering readers invaluable lessons that come from the very pages of his own life. This memoir could be read as an interesting story, but it can also be read as a self-help book for young and seasoned entrepreneurs. In the heart of this book is the truth that life will always come to the aid of those who never give up. Whether readers are looking for words of encouragement, an interesting story to read on vacation, or the finest strategies in building and sustaining their wealth, Jorge P. Newbery’s book will be one of their best reads.
