A Bounty of Bone by PG Lengsfelder is a fast-paced story based on factual issues and experiences. It takes the reader on a wild trip from Minnesota to New York City, South Africa to Mozambique, and finally to Tanzania. We follow the journey of Eunis, who had to endure abuse and superstition due to her albinism. She faced many demons along the way only to emerge triumphant in the end. The book addresses themes such as loneliness and friendship, faith, and magic. The topics are thoughtfully and forthrightly introduced. After I had finished reading the book, I found myself thinking of Eunis and all the experiences and hardships she had to endure. All the characters I encountered in the book were convincing, yet not all are likable.

PG Lengsfelder’s writing style kept me engaged throughout while following Eunis on her journey. It felt as if I was right there with her all the way, experiencing everything she was going through. Some events described were rather upsetting, with outcomes that were somewhat unexpected yet believable. Lengsfelder’s descriptions of landscapes in A Bounty of Bone are realistic and authentic. Although I had never been to some of the cities, it felt as if I was being pulled into the story and could smell and feel everything together with Eunis. The characters were well portrayed. I could imagine what they looked like and how they lived. Ultimately, it is a story of triumph, endurance, acceptance, and friendship. It is a novel that I can highly recommend as it kept me spellbound until the end.

Yes, and it's far spookier than described above. A great ride!
