A Bridge To Humanity is the story of a Jewish family who went from having an ideal life to suffering the consequences of the Holocaust. Anna Goldman is one of the main characters, a young woman who needed to overcome many obstacles to survive. She is the daughter of Otto Goldman, a jeweler, who because of his trade was able to provide adequate support for his family. In this story, everyone in the home has a personal tale to tell. Joan T. Seko relates the events from the beginning of the war when the Germans began to close down Jewish businesses. She recounts how the Jews were gradually deprived of their freedom, segregated, humiliated, and subjugated. This novel describes how quickly the lives of many people changed forever.

Although A Bridge To Humanity is a fictional account, it incorporates historical facts and the prominent people of the time, which adds realism. Joan T. Seko highlights crucial moments in history. Another significant aspect is that the book has several narrators, giving the perspective of each family member and related characters. The diverse narrators intertwine their stories, giving more depth to each tale. An ever-present factor is the tension experienced by everyone while trying to protect their freedom. They all know that any mistake could be fatal. Regardless of their position, nobody is spared from personally witnessing and living out the cruelty of war. This book portrays an almost hopeless situation where there is nothing left but to keep on fighting.
