Author Biography

Anthony Gonzalez was born in Houston, Texas, and after earning a degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, he completed a twenty-four year military career. He currently resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia with his wife Surenity Blitz, and after losing their gentle giant, Trouble, at the age of 10, they rescued two Saint Bernard sisters, Mayhem and Chaos who are enjoying the rescued life that Trouble loved so much.
Anthony and his wife have been involved in the Saint Bernard Rescue Network since 2009 and have rescued 6 Saints now. Anthony's inspiration for writing the book came when his co-worker saw pictures of Trouble at his desk and told him that his dog was crazy and children would love to read a book about his adventures.

A Dog Named Trouble Goes to a Forever Home by Anthony Gonzalez is a feel-good story about a huge Saint Bernard. Trouble starts out at a shelter where his new Mom and Dad pick him up and bring him home. Trouble has some anxious moments settling into his new home but with patience and love from his new parents, he becomes comfortable. Because of his large size, Trouble lives up to his name as he sheds fur and slobbers everywhere. He likes to sit on the couch and on his Dad’s lap. He also has a huge appetite and loves to go to the burger stand where his Dad gets him four burgers. Trouble has found a fur-ever home.

Anyone who has ever owned a dog, especially a large dog, will relate to the escapades of Trouble. The illustrations by Walter Policelli are beautifully done and depict a warm loving family and a Saint Bernard that I could not help but fall in love with. Anthony Gonzalez has written a great story that highlights the value of taking a rescue pet into your home. A Dog Named Trouble Goes to a Forever Home is a joyful and laugh-out-loud story that will provide some instantly recognizable incidents for any dog owner. I really enjoyed the pictures at the end of the real Trouble doing exactly what is written about in the story! This is a must-read book for anyone who loves animals. I hope that there will be more stories about Trouble coming soon.
