Poems written with clarity are the easiest and most direct way to reach our hearts and there can be no better choice than this collection of poems to refresh our souls. A Penny for Your Thoughts by Jane Penny Johnson is a delightful collection of poetry, which includes poems dealing with meaningful themes such as peace, family, love, death, and feelings. Some of the poems are just a few verses long, even as few as four or six, but each of them tells a complete story and sends a significant message that you cannot miss.

A Penny for Your Thoughts is a collection that I find precious and delicate at the same time. Jane Penny Johnson brings new meaning to the old expression, 'she has the soul of a poet', for she fits the description. Her poems are easy to understand and immediately brought joy and tenderness to my soul. Even when the subjects are sad, like the poem dedicated to the death of a son, I am struck by the hope and solace her poetry can bring. I believe this is a special gift that only true poets can offer. I recommend it to all those who love collections of poems. Thanks to the simplicity of everyday language, these poems have the power to create an incredible experience for those who love to read them. If you are this kind of reader, this one is for you.

A Penny for Your Thoughts is an enthralling poetry collection by Jane Penny Johnson. With her beautifully penned verses, Johnson covers a wide range of topics related to life, including love, family, nature, religion, country, and much more. These poems are like a soothing balm for your soul, showcasing the beauty of nature and life in general. They are meant to heal wounds and provide a sense of relief to the everyday struggles of life. While poems like Iron Will celebrate the resilient nature of the human spirit, others such as Answered Prayer touch upon the generous love of God. The universal quality of Johnson's verses will appeal to readers of diverse backgrounds, regardless of gender, race, sex, or religion.

A Penny for Your Thoughts is a must-read for poetry lovers and even those who enjoy introspective literary pieces. Jane Penny Johnson has crafted some meticulously penned verses that pull at your heartstrings and leave you contemplating life and all it entails. Each poem maintains Johnson's stylistic flair while bringing something unique of its own to the narrative. Great poetry always makes you ponder and think about the ways you can make this world a better place to live; these poems achieve this and more. I enjoyed them all, but Fighting for Freedom is probably my personal favorite of the bunch, although that may change on a reread. If you're a poetry aficionado, this is a collection you need to read. Highly recommended.

A Penny for Your Thoughts is a collection of poems by Jane Penny Johnson that touch on virtually every aspect of life. According to the author, the poems are to delight, inform, inspire, uplift, entertain, surprise, and spiritually enhance any lover of poetry. The author writes about family, love, faith, patriotism, and hope. She also makes use of literary devices such as simile, metaphor, personification, enjambment, rhetorical questions, and rhyme. Johnson also employs religious allusion to drive home her point. The book contains two sections of poems. One begins with the title of the book, and the other is titled "small poems that say special things." These poems are reflective and primarily religious.

A Penny for Your Thoughts is a book that will have you hooked. The poems are easy to read and understand. They contain material that makes you learn and become inspired. I especially loved the verses that concentrate more on nationalism and Christianity. The lyrics relating to Christianity specifically make reference to the works of Jesus Christ in the Bible, faith, and the hope of heaven. The author’s special use of symbolism and imagery helps to broaden the imaginative senses. Jane Penny Johnson’s rich use of literary devices gives life to the poems. The popular words of great men are used to enrich the poems and tell stories. Above all, her lyrics give us words to ponder. I would recommend this collection to every lover of poetry and emerging poets.

Jane Penny Johnson’s thoughts are worth a lot more than a penny. In A Penny for Your Thoughts, she gives the reader a delightful journey through life. She wants to uplift, entertain, inspire, and spiritually enhance us. If you love poetry, you will read and then reread this little collection. Penny’s poems cover a range of subjects. The topics range from her family to nature, freedom to Alzheimer’s, life to being an American, and more. My favorite is the section on small but special poems. Through the rhyming, she shares her desire to showcase the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith shines through these precious poems, but even the non-religious will enjoy reading them. This is a book of poetry for everyone.

Jane Penny Johnson is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. She is also a Certified Christian Lay Counselor. She desires to help anyone who needs help. This love of people comes through her poems with flying colors. Each poem is less than a page long but packed with powerful imagery and thoughts. The poems have the power to lift us above our circumstances and overcome the blues. Her love for her family shines brightly. Her love for God shines even brighter. Penny opens her heart and shares the struggles she has endured. She has come through so-called tragedy with style. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and will more than likely reread it. I highly recommend Jane Penny Johnson’s writing.
