Rania is a regular girl, just trying to get through life in Toronto. Adam is a rich bachelor, spending and sleeping his way through the days. Can these two make it together, or will their differences drive them apart before they even get started?

I enjoyed this book right from the start. I love how the chapters are separated into each point of view, as you get a glimpse from both sides of the coin and how each character is dealing with their new friendship. I feel as though this one quote from the beginning perfectly sums up how you should view this story: "I wonder at the fact that each human has his own story to tell; everyone has a past, a present and a future to look forward to." We travel through the present with both Rania and Adam, and while looking through them towards their possible future, we see that they'll have to relive a past that could tear them apart.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romance, but note that it's not your typical boy-meets-girl, boy-gets-girl story. This is one where you'll be rooting on both sides, and you get to see what happens when love-at-first-sight meets its match in a strong-willed woman.

A Silent Prayer moves quickly after the slower first couple of chapters. But picks up pace to a dead run a quarter of the way through. I loved the two different point-of-views alternating from Rania to Adam. The characters are descriptive and three-dimensional and the dialog, both face-to-face and while texting, comes across rich and seductive—a true romance indeed.

I think the Samreen Ahsan expressed herself in a unique way to bring her message to the reader. The character’s personalities were believable as far as age, beliefs and culture. I gave this review a 4-Star because it kept my attention—which is not an easy thing to do. Overall, this love story told by two narrators will take the reader from the business world in Toronto to train trips through beautiful countryside and keep them well entertained. This story of love, jealousy, relationships and a young woman’s tormenting past escalates as they acclimate to a relationship that could take them beyond. Eternal Infinite

Set in several different cities in Canada, I fell in love with their story as Adam and Rania fell in love with each other. Samreen is an excellent storyteller. I believe she has the gift of Scheherazade. I believe she has shown in her romantic novel that you can achieve passion without the use of graphic sex scenes. However I am disappointed and distracted from getting caught up in intense scenes by the use of the “f” word many times. The strong language is why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5.The plot moves quickly and keeps you interested. The way the book is organized is helpful. You get to read Adam’s thoughts and then it changes and you get to read Rania’s thoughts. I found it interesting learning about the Islamic faith.
This is one of my favorite paragraphs in the book:
“ I am on a magical journey, learning how normal people live, free from worries about meetings and business deals. This walk with her, hand in hand in the falling snow, is priceless, more valuable than a ride in any luxury car or my helicopter. She stops for a minute to look up at the snow-filled sky and feel the snowflakes falling over her face. She doesn’t blink, even for a single second, though some of the flakes dissolve in her eyes. I see tears dripping from the corners of her eyes, but she keeps looking at the sky. The moment is frozen within us. I wonder wildly what she is thinking, but she doesn’t say anything. She glances back at me, giving my a very strange look, and hugs my tightly. I am taken completely off guard. I pull her closer to me, feeling her warmth and passion, and we stand in the midst of this white magical land. It is the best snowfall of my life. She pulls away all of a sudden and starts to jog, dragging me down the street.”
This book is the first in a series and I look forward to reading the second installment, A
Prayer Heeded. I hope it has as much romance and passion as A Silent Prayer.

A Silent Prayer is told from a first person perspective. The chapters switch between Rania and Adam. At first, when I found out that the chapters would be separated this way, I thought there might be confusion. But it was quite clear throughout the book whose chapter you were on and who was telling their story. Their thoughts were clear and it was easy to determine which chapter was which. I enjoyed reading each character's chapters and gaining understanding about their pasts and present. As well as the thoughts that went through their heads. It was interesting and made it simple to understand what was going through their heads at any time.

What was also different from many other books is not that there was religion involved, but that it involved the Islam religion. I knew very little of Islam before reading this book and while it doesn't answer all of my questions, it certainly gives a unique perspective. Rania is a Muslim and it was different and refreshing to see her perspective as viewed through her religion. It was a new perspective and one that I enjoyed immensely.

Samreen Ahsan also pays attention to settings and describing those settings. She used many descriptive words and words that clearly showed the images that she was trying to portray. It was beautiful and I saw cities in new lights.

A Silent Prayer was a unique, descriptive and great read. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys books that involve religion as well as romance and the past defining a person's present.

Rania Ahmed has strong faith and a devote beleif in God. She is sucessful in her career and very beautiful. But she has secrets from her past, they are so strong that they are destroying her from the inside and keeping her from finding true happiness. She meets Adam Gibson a young very powerful and very rich man, he is an Atheist and does not believe in God. They soon become friends and find they are able to help each other. Will he be able to reach her and melt her heart? Will she be able to accept his declaration of new found faith? A very touching heart felt story of two lost souls who find each other. I really liked Rana , and the story line was very easy to follow.

When I first began reading this book, I was confused with the first two chapters. I wasn’t sure who the ballerina girl was and his feelings towards women. Gibson is portrayed as a womanizer and this book talks about Gibson being attractive and falling in love with Rania Ahmed. Adam was going a bit overboard to me when he did a background check on Rania. The two meet through the “corporate world” and a bunch of surprises happen between the two. I came to find out all the hurt from Rania’s past relationships and when she begin talking about God, I gained more respect for her character.

The book is masterfully crafted with a plot, prologue, interesting events, and an intriguing conclusion. I recommend this book to those who work in the “corporate world”, those in a relationship, and readers who enjoy a great read with humor and suspense.

The start of the story catches my attention,
it's good and I love that it's easy love and to relate with.
The characters, Adam and Rania are awesome!
I love these two.
Rania, she's a bit mysterious but I love her because of her kindness and the way she interacted to others is genuine. She's also understanding and she's not easily charmed by other guys.
Adam, eekk... this guy is awesome!
I also love his kindness towards less fortunate people. He's not greedy in power/wealth.
Also the other characters are good, especially Rania's best friend!

"A Silent Prayer" is an emotionally-charged, stirring romance between two broken people from different cultures and religious beliefs who are magnetically drawn to one another after they meet, and begin to discover that love is stronger than any barrier that could keep them apart.

The plot is compelling although I found the dialogue artificial and forced at times. Samreen Ahsan writes with heart and passion, her own faith shining through Rania who communicates the essence of her beliefs to Adam, a confessed atheist. As they embark on a dance of love their story is told in both their voices; a creative device which exposes their thoughts and feelings, drawing the reader into the unfolding drama of their lives. The narrative combines mystery, the paranormal and romance while breathing in elements of friendship, compassion, forgiveness , faith and love.

The characters are unforgettable in all their complexity; like Rania Ahmed, an intelligent young Lebanese woman scarred by the trauma of her past. She's strong-minded, defensive, conservative and secretive; her strong faith an integral part of her identity. Adam Gibson is an ethical businessman who's reserved, unpredictable, and charming. Arrogant, proud and extremely rich, I could understand Adam wanting a background check, but had trouble with his compulsive obsession, and possessiveness of a girl he'd only known a short time.

Adding energy and dimension to this story are interesting characters like Ali bin Moosa, Adam's astute and loyal bodyguard; Ben Dynman a greedy, manipulative business owner; Mike Dynman, Rania's loving, reliable and trustworthy best friend as well as Ethan Murray a sleazy, aggressive, unconscionable blackmailer.

This story is far more than just a simple romance, it's a spiritual journey as an atheist with a tormented soul and a woman with a scarred past find light in the darkness that surrounds them , and find love might be the catalyst that changes everything including their future. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the sequel.

A touching story of two lost souls who find each other. Dramatic at times, so engrossing I could no put it down. I really liked Rania, and love the story line. I look forward to reading the second book A Prayer Heeded.

I am not a regular book reader person but my friend recommended me this book and i actually spent time to read and find out it has written with such an intensity of Luv which is hard to see these days. Not a Romio Julliet style but today's modern story of two people who belong to two different worlds, story of Trust, Care, being Human and finding you SoulMate.....just read and find out so many unspoken answeres of another world which exists but we dont think of it often until we meet such peoples :)

I would recommend to all my friends and people who actually believe in True Luv...

Gr8 work Samreen Ahsan....am looking for the second series to come out in market, you have raised our expecations to the next level.

A Silent Prayer really leaves you hanging at the end :-) After a deliberately lengthy build-up, the action is just hotting up and then... 100%! At least I know there's "A Prayer Heeded" already waiting for me!

This is a highly involved and informative story of two people who are at opposite ends of almost every spectrum, but who are drawn together almost compulsively. I really enjoyed the alternating voice of each chapter, which developed the story from both Rania and Adam's perspectives in parallel - a very effective technique!

I'm not sure how autobiographical this novel is, but the account of violence perpetrated on women and the constraints of growing up as a Muslim in a western culture are vivid and beautifully articulated. I can't wait to find out how Adam and Rania resolve the many complications and bring their lives together.

Its been a very long time since I have fallen in love with a book. But this book caught me off-guard.... captured my attention and mesmerized me to the point that I started adoring it and its writer.

I have read lots of books including the recent famous (read infamous) best sellers, and I can say I enjoyed it the best. I have witnessed people who don't read gripped with unreal passion while reading this book. Its the must read book for all. Its fantasy based novel that deals with serious issues at heart. I just love the twists and turns in the story and the enchanting romance.

A slient prayer is one of most exciting stories about love, care and intimacy. It's mystery, romance, suspense all combined. It starts casually but gets more and more exciting and mysterious. One of the unique things about the book is that the chapters have been written in a way in which u get to read from the perception of both the main characters. You get to read inside both their minds which is truly a different experience.I like the way they so easily discuss religious beliefs with eachother, and how rania patiently explains things to adam giving him all the space to absorb things rather than being aggressive about the matter, and the impact which rania leaves on adam's mind each time she explains him about the existence of God is rare. Plus i really love the title rania has given adam secretly in her heart i.e. "the forbidden fruit". Im simply in love with adam's character. I love the fact that adam starts to believe in the existence of God not beacuse of money power or fame but because he found a true partner in his life. Its really great the way they both are trying to help the other to get rid of his/her demons. The expressions used in the book are amazing! They actually make u feel the intensity with which adam regards rania and also feel the fears rania experiences throughout the book.
The book has been wrapped up amazingly. It leaves you craving to know the rest of the story and i think thats how a good book is supposed to make you feel!

As i start reading " a silent prayer" i wonder if the book would be able hold me to it, as that hasn't happened for a long, long time!

When i get to the part about Adam's imagination and the dancing girl i feel i am already glued to this book! every word from then on that Adam used to describe Rania or how he feels, is exactly what i experienced while reading the book. For me the book has magical realism in it too as for me i can only wish for a story like this in reality, one can imagine it too but may never hear of it for real...

Also books make me impatient when im addicted to them. but this book had a much deeper effect on me. when the writer wove her story and made Adam patient , i became patient too. what surprised me is that i enjoyed my curiosity rather than wishing it would end. this quality of this beautiful story makes the reader connect all the dots even when he knows he's still in the dark.

The book itself is an enchantress rather than Rania. The characters are so well defined in emotion as well as their position that ones is compelled to believe they exist.

there are few books that one feels lucky to have read, lucky to have experienced. For me this definitely that book. :)
