All Body Bags and No Knickers: Mercenaries in Suits Book 3 by Shawe Ruckus describes the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of newlyweds Catherine and Chance Yang. For their honeymoon, they were traveling to the northern coast of China, where Catherine would finally get to meet Chance's family. During their travels, they took their time sightseeing and eating delicious food together. They had no idea that their celebration would be cut short when three people they had just met were found dead in a nearby derelict building at the seaside. Catherine found out that her new husband had concealed some shocking secrets as the couple searched for evidence related to the deaths. She was then faced with a difficult choice that would have a profound impact on their lives forever. Find out more in this enthralling story.

All Body Bags and No Knickers by Shawe Ruckus is a well-written, slow-paced, and engaging read. I truly enjoyed learning about Catherine and Chance's trip since I could so easily envision myself taking my partner on a similar vacation. It helped me unwind and simultaneously piqued my interest with the details of past events that the novel revealed progressively. My initial feelings of calm and mild curiosity were quickly replaced by excitement as several hints began to divulge what had transpired in the past and the identity of the true suspect in this mess. The identity of the villain was only revealed at the end, which is exactly the kind of mystery tale I like to read. Excellent work.

Your honeymoon is meant to be the happiest moment in your life after your wedding but that may not be the case in All Body Bags and No Knickers: Mercenaries in Suits Book 3 by Shawe Ruckus. Catherine Roxborough and Chance Yang were headed to China for their honeymoon and for Cat to meet his family. Things seemed to be going well until three bodies turned up, all seemingly connected to her new husband, and when things get even spookier on Ghost Night, it is up to them to unravel the mystery behind the dead bodies.

All Body Bags and No Knickers by Shawe Ruckus was such a well-thought-out and well-written mystery novel. The plot was so interesting, filled with little details throughout that, in the end, seemed to come together for the big reveal. I absolutely loved how this was set up from the start and I can genuinely say I did not expect some of the twists that were thrown in. Ruckus effortlessly created such a good storyline that incorporated various elements while also showcasing some Chinese culture. The characters were all well fleshed out with their own parts to play in every scene and I enjoyed seeing Cat slowly unravel everything. I honestly wasn’t expecting the supernatural element in this plot but I greatly enjoyed its presence and felt that it added to the cultural aspect of the story. Overall, All Body Bags and No Knickers was such a good book that I found myself completely engrossed in it once I started reading.

In All Body Bags and No Knickers by Shawe Ruckus, Catherine and Chance head to China, where they settle into their Beijing hotel and explore the city before trekking to Yantai. They discuss family histories and Catherine's encounter with a businessman named Jin-goon Kim. In Yantai, they meet with family and friends, tour the coastline, and, once more, encounter Jin-goon Kim. Catherine and Chance return to a hotel and an investigation of suspicious deaths, and a plainclothes officer questions their knowledge of the deceased. In a shocking twist, Chance reveals a troubling secret involving his sister and a traumatic event related to a teacher and a student. They discuss potential foul play. As more pieces of the case come to light, links to a church, a mysterious figure, and uncertainty haunt them. Despite all the challenges and dangers, Chance and Catherine's determination to seek the truth remains steadfast.

All Body Bags and No Knickers is the third book in the Mercenaries in Suits series, and Shawe Ruckus does an excellent job of drawing together a mystery and wrapping it up in what should be the happiest moments of Chance and Catherine's lives. Unfortunately for them, marriage is no deterrent to murder. They are spared, but their trip is not. As a woman of East Asian heritage, I really loved that Ruckus has crafted a Chinese protagonist in Chance and set the whole mystery in China. Ruckus gives the reader what can best be described as an armchair tour of the less traveled parts of this huge country, and even one of my familial stomping grounds, Qingdao, gets an honorable mention. The novel has the hallmarks of a cozy mystery without feeling predictable, but it does deal with extremely traumatic violence against children that is more distressing than the murders themselves. Ruckus maneuvers around this with care and compassion, and I respect that the author had the courage to take the story down a path that needs to be talked about but often isn't. I am now a solid fan of the series and look forward to seeing what Ruckus puts out next.

All Body Bags and No Knickers is a work of fiction in the mystery, intrigue, and suspense subgenres, and forms the third installment of the Mercenaries in Suits book series. The work is best suited to the general adult reading audience. Penned by author Shawe Ruckus, this gripping thriller takes place on a honeymoon trip that turns nightmarish for newlyweds Catherine Roxborough and Chance Yang. The pair embarks on a journey to meet Chance's family in northern coastal China during the annual Ghost Night when spirits roam freely. What should have been a joyous occasion takes a dark turn when they stumble upon the discovery of three naked corpses in a seaside derelict, individuals they had only recently met. The couple is thrust into a perplexing mystery. Was it murder, revenge, or a tragic affair? As they delve deeper into the investigation, Catherine begins to suspect that her husband may be harboring secrets related to the case.

The narrative skill and attention paid to atmospheric detail make for a story rife with suspense, secrets, and the complexities of relationships. The characters are well-developed, with some really snappy dialogue that offers a dark undertone of biting wit as suspicion and terror take over. The plot is also full of genuinely unexpected twists and turns, which the author keeps good control of with pacing, and the overall craft of the mystery lets everything fall back into place in a truly satisfying manner.
