A Tyrannosaurus Rex is sad because other dinosaurs don't want to play with him. They are too scared of his sharp teeth, big eyes, and huge head. Rex must convince the other dinosaurs that he is friendly. First, Rex wanted to invite them to his puppet show, but he couldn't hold the puppets with his small arms. His next idea was to have a pool party. Although he sent out many invitations, no one came. Then he thought about a pie-eating contest but soon abandoned this idea as well. Rex turned to an old Spinosaurus, who had figured out how to attract friends, for advice. Will the wise Spino help Rex win the hearts of the other dinosaurs? Anomalous Rex by Dylan Cook and Rachel Wunsch is a wonderful book for children and dinosaur lovers of any age.

In Anomalous Rex, Dylan Cook explains to children that we should never judge others by their appearance. Rex may look scary, but he has a gentle soul. Looking deeper inside your heart before trying to spark interest in others is another remarkable message of Anomalous Rex. I liked the whimsical illustrations by Rachel Wunsch very much! The pictures depict the main features of the dinosaurs and enable children to recognize each one easily. At the same time, Rachel gives every dinosaur distinctive personality traits, making the characters animated and lovable. Dylan and Rachel inspire children to be creative and never give up on a good cause. Narrated with a good pinch of humor, Anomalous Rex is a smooth and heartwarming read. The book reminds adult readers that we should always be kind and tolerant of each other. Flawlessly edited, Anomalous Rex is a great gift for children, their parents, and educators.
