In Axiom, a supernatural thriller by Anthony Milton, Julia is a young woman who has recently moved to her father's home in the small town of Cardinal-Wood. With the help of her cousin Zander Thurman, a famous YouTuber, Julia gets a job at the local bar -- The Pit. On her first day at the bar, Zander introduces actress Libby Yolke to The Pit's employees. Libby, a beautiful woman, has an almost ethereal effect on everyone in the bar, including Julia. After Julia returns home, she is plagued by nightmares and later learns that Zander has passed away. Meanwhile, the Axiom Research Agency, which investigates paranormal phenomena, recruits Julia, leading her to discover that Libby is a demon preying on human flaws. Can Julia stop Libby from hurting more of her friends?

Anthony Milton draws upon the genres of sci-fi, horror, and supernatural fiction to deliver a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Filled with mystery, intrigue, and a healthy dose of the paranormal, Axiom has your attention from the first page to the last. The author keeps the plot moving at an even pace, featuring twists and turns that are bound to take readers by surprise. Julia is one of the more fleshed-out characters, and her development was one of the primary highlights of the book for me. The scenes between Julia, Victor, and Quincy were also interesting, and I especially enjoyed the theories revolving around Axiom and the unseen world. Some of the scenes with horror elements will have you biting your nails. If you're a fan of supernatural thriller/horror, this will be right up your alley!

In AR Milton's supernatural thriller Axiom, Julia's cousin Zander Thurman, a well-known YouTuber, anticipated that his upcoming videos would make him more famous nationwide. Julia recently moved in with her father and started at The Pit, where she met Libby Yolke, an actress Zander had hired as the new lead on his YouTube channel. When Libby and Zander left, Julia was enveloped in a lavender scent, and her tongue was coated in a honey flavor. After learning that Zander had died, Julia noticed that when she was standing close to his body in the morgue, a smell of lavender wafted into her nostrils. Because Julia had the unusual ability to see past appearances, she was oblivious to Libby's character and saw only the necessity of stopping her.

AR Milton's Axiom: A Cardinal-Wood Story is filled with mystery, intrigue, and the paranormal. I joined Julia in a world where the boundaries between the spiritual and earthly domains vanished. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and I was captivated from the beginning to the end. With all the twists and turns, I never knew what to expect next in this action-packed, fast-paced story. The characters were authentic, and I could relate to them. Julia was my favorite character; Libby Yolke could not easily overcome Julia as she made her way through Cardinal-Wood, trying to undermine the residents' control over their souls. The story was remarkable and masterfully written. It truly exceeded all my expectations, and I loved reading it!

In Axiom: A Cardinal-Wood Story by A.R. Milton, Julia embarks on an unforgettable adventure when she returns to her father's hometown. Tensions rise as her cousin Zander Thurman's bustling day at the Pit intertwines with Julia's haunting encounters with the enigmatic Libby Yolke, the new lead on Zander's YouTube channel. As the narrative unfolds, Julia uncovers Libby's true nature and overcomes the challenges through her extraordinary journey. Axiom is a story about the search for truth and redemption in the face of adversity. The story seamlessly combines elements of mystery, horror, and psychological drama with intricate plot twists and character developments.

The pacing is nicely crafted, mixing tense moments and introspection with bursts of action and revelation. The narrative effectively explores themes of loss, identity, and existential quest, prompting readers to contemplate the intricate layers of human experience and the mysterious influences that mold our destinies. The dialogues crackle with authenticity, and internal monologues offer poignant insights into the characters' inner lives, making the reader feel close to them. The characters are complex and multifaceted; every character is unique and well-developed, making readers feel different emotions from understanding to curiosity. One of the key elements is the suspense in the gradual unfolding of secrets and revelations. The author expertly introduces something suspicious or unusual at the beginning of the story itself but readers never expect this kind of suspense; the true nature of characters like Libby Yolke, and the sinister forces at play. As Julia delves deeper into challenges and struggles, she faces her past troubles to reconcile her beliefs with the unsettling truths she uncovers along the way. With a blend of science fiction, horror, and psychological drama, Axiom by A.R. Milton invites readers on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, where nothing is as it seems. Highly recommended, especially for fans of supernatural thrillers.

Axiom: A Cardinal-Wood Story by AR Milton is a mind-twisting supernatural adventure that will have readers thinking about evolution, mutants, and genetic heredity. Julia has recently moved into her father’s small hometown and is about to be drawn into a world she had only visited in her worst nightmares. Julia has unseen powers that she is only just beginning to explore and understand. She can identify and battle with demons and otherworldly creatures that exist amongst us in plain sight but are unknown to the vast majority. She discovers that her father’s job with the mysterious governmental organization, the Axiom Research Agency (A.R.A.), is much more than just a research agency for religious and philosophical thought. It is a covert governmental agency that she is a prime candidate to join as a field agent. It seems Julia has inherited many powers and insights from her father and her late mother. Julia’s dreams of demons and the supernatural are more than just dreams; they are visions of reality and she is the only one who can successfully challenge these demons. The death of her beloved cousin Zander at the hands of a demon sets this young woman on her path of retribution.

Axiom is one of those novels that allow the author to explore the weirdest and wildest concepts and ideas about our world and universe and present them to the reader for consideration. Author AR Milton has done a tremendous job of creating these characters that hint at a universe and reality that is different from what our human senses can interpret and see. With a nod to X-Men, we meet Julia whose senses are greatly enhanced and who is capable of seeing and feeling things far beyond mere human comprehension. That Julia and others like her are the logical progression of evolution and humanity’s expansion of consciousness is what truly impressed me about this story. There are no superheroes here, just ordinary humans who have evolved a greater ability to experience and understand parts of our universe that have hitherto been undetected by others. I loved the idea that evil is always present. Because we cannot see the forces of evil, we invariably have looked for other supernatural or religious explanations and have invented narratives to explain the presence of both good and evil. The concept of progressive evolution is something that few seem willing to embrace. There is a belief that man is the ultimate evolved creation and there is nothing we can improve upon. I liked this story so much precisely because it throws out that paradigm totally and suggests that where we are today is just one step on the evolutionary ladder. What wonders will we discover when the next evolutionary leap forward is embarked upon? This book considers the question and some of the answers are frankly terrifying. I loved Axiom and highly recommend it.
