Bean In Love (A Kelly Clark Mystery Book 2) by Annie Hansen is a murder mystery with a ghost as the main suspect. Kelly writes murder mysteries for a living and is quite happy to leave the murderers and mysteries in a fictitious world. Kelly has gone through Hell and back with her ex-husband. After a traumatic divorce, Kelly is happy living in the apartment over her sister Nikki's specialty dessert shop, Chocolate Love. Unfortunately, one of Nikki's friends, a curator at the museum, is found dead one day. The police are calling it a suicide, but since the man had come to Nikki for help the previous day, she disagrees. He had been very distraught and had insisted that a vengeful ghost had been trying to kill him. Because Nikki cares about his reputation, she coerces the reluctant Kelly into helping her find the real reason behind his death. Since there is no evidence of murder, where do they start looking? Nikki and the curator's family insist that he wouldn't kill himself. Kelly and Nikki, with the assistance of the dead man's brother, begin their sleuth work at the museum. If he didn't off himself, who helped him? He had no enemies, except for the supposedly violent spirit. Ghosts don't kill people, or do they?

Bean In Love (A Kelly Clark Mystery Book 2) is an intriguing cozy murder mystery starring Kelly and her sisters, Nikki and Adele. The mystery of the murdering ghost is in competition with sibling rivalry. Over the past year, their family dynamic has changed for the better, at least Kelly hopes it has. Their relationships are still a little shaky and imbalanced as each of the sisters is experiencing adverse circumstances. Their sisterly bonds are lifelike and relatable, making the story believable. The intricacies of the relationships intertwined with mystifying crimes make an excellent cozy mystery. Fans of cozy mysteries will enjoy reading how Kelly and Nikki solve another baffling puzzle. This novel is the sequel to Chocolate Love, the first in the Kelly Clark Mystery series and I am looking forward to seeing what happens with the sisters in the upcoming book, Take The Doughnut.
