Sixteen-year-old Becky's life falls apart when one evening, while returning home from work, she is chased and brutally raped by four strangers, who leave her dying off the coast of Cornwell. Traumatized and severely injured, Becky slowly starts to recover, only to be sent by her neglectful parents to live with her cousin, Arnie, in Stratford, London. Becky takes a while to acclimate to her new surroundings with Arnie's roommates, Alex and Paul. The three friends eventually win her over and hire two ingenious private detectives to investigate Becky's assault. However, events escalate further, and Becky soon finds herself embroiled in multiple court cases, with her own family against her. To make matters worse, one of her loved ones is kidnapped and murdered. Will Becky be able to find justice? Find out in Hristina Bloomfield's gripping crime thriller, Becky.

This is a hard-hitting story about a young woman's fight for justice and her efforts to overcome a heinous crime that shatters her world. Hristina Bloomfield's gut-punch of a novel is full of heartbreak, romance, betrayal, and suspense. There is something to be said when victims of assault are treated as culprits by some sections of society, which is perfectly demonstrated in Bloomfield's novel when the heroine of the story, Becky, is accused. Becky's relationship with Alex feels genuine, and it makes the reader root for them. Overall, I found Becky to be a bittersweet tale that anyone who loves well-written crime dramas will enjoy.
