Diana Hunter reeled with grief from the loss of her husband, Brian. She couldn’t even find his body. A friend of Diana’s named Eva suggested a trip to her family in Mexico, where she would find peace. The remote village school also needed an English language teacher, and Diana was proficient. Diana’s arrival in Tejuatzio heralded many terrible experiences that shook her to the core. She became the victim of a legend, faced hostility from everyone, contended with hate from her hosts, and more. Everything came to a head when she lost her home in the United States and discovered a shocking secret. What will be Diana’s fate in Mexico? Will she ever go back to her beloved America? Behind the Adobe Wall by Joanne Cunningham has the details.

Behind the Adobe Wall by Joanne Cunningham was a captivating and heartfelt read that followed the growth of Diana. I believe this novel would appeal to anyone scared to step out of their comfort zone. It encouraged us to explore without fear, have an open mind, and be kind while at it. The book touched on culture shock, kindness, beliefs, deception, betrayal, loyalty, love, grief, and wholesomeness. I loved the realistic storyline and the brilliant plot that unveiled many facets. The writing style and character development were excellent as the cast made an impression. Eduardo was a unique and contradicting character, comparing his attitude to Diana with his kindness to clients. I also fell in love with Marisol and Diana, enjoying how they grew from followers to leaders. This story was worthy and women-focused. Please, write more, Joanne.
