Author Biography

Erin Jensen is a part-time pharmacist and a full-time creator of imaginary worlds. She lives in upstate New York with her ridiculously supportive husband, two teenage sons (who are both taller than her), and a Yorkshire terrier who thinks he's the family bodyguard.

Erin is a sucker for any book that draws you into its world, makes you feel for its characters, and keeps you thinking about the story long after you've turned the last page. After finishing a particularly gripping series several years back, she decided to create a fictional world of her own. Now, nothing thrills her more than hearing from a reader who loves her characters as much as she does.

Early on in her writing career, Erin vowed to get a dragon tattoo to celebrate when she reached a milestone number of reviews. She no longer shares that number, for fear that she might actually reach her goal and have to go through with it.

Benevolent by Erin A Jensen is a supernatural story that follows the life of fifteen-year-old Abigail Perkins and an unexpected moment of grief that changes her life. She is bullied in school and the only comfort she finds is in her friendship with Danny Cobb and the television show, Supernatural. But when she learns that Danny’s cancer is about to take his life, she is overwhelmed with sadness. Unable to visit him for the last time, she goes to bed and cries herself to sleep. But upon waking up, she finds one of the most beloved angels from the show standing at the foot of her bed. It’s a miracle that redefines her perspective on life and gives her the strength to heal and to stand tall in the midst of adversity.

The narrator is the protagonist, now an older woman, and looking back at the events of her life. It’s a novel that explores the effects of a television show on fans and how fantasy can become an ingredient in our recipe for healing our heart and our experiences and a tool for believing. The story opens with a powerful premise—imagine a lonely girl, losing the kindest person she’s ever met and imagine that it wasn’t until third grade that she found her first friend. The emotion is introduced right from the start of the novel and the reader feels a connection with the protagonist. There is a lot to enjoy in this book, but what captivated me most was the gorgeous prose, so descriptive and filled with symbolism and vivid imagery. Benevolent is heartwarming and filled with inspiration, a novel with strong and memorable characters and an unusual message. Erin A Jensen’s work stands out in its originality and beauty.

One of the best books I have ever read! I highly recommend reading Benevolent by Erin A. Jensen, this amazing book not only gives the reader a new lease on life but by donating 100% of the net proceeds to Random Acts of Kindness it is helping make the world a better place to live in too.
I have been a longtime fan of Supernatural, and who doesn't love Misha Collin’s portrayal of Castiel. So, when I saw that there was a book based on his character, I decided to read it. Little did I know that what I thought was just a book based on Supernatural of sorts would turn out to be a life changing book to help me get through one of the darkest times in my life. Not only did I totally connect with the main character Abigail, at times it was like reading my own traumatic childhood on paper. More importantly it also has helped me to deal with my grandmother who is now coming to the end of her life. She has been my rock all my life, she has taken care of me and helped me to grow into the woman I am today, and now I am taking care of her in her final days. The words and message this book offers has given me a new understanding of life, death and most importantly the realization that we are never alone, we all have that one special guardian angel watching over us, helping us get through the tough times and leading us to make better choices. To make a difference in others’ lives, to be there for them through thick and thin, to be everything for someone.

Wonderful story! This is a really beautiful story about love and loss, friendship and inner strength. I am a huge fan of the authors Dream Waters series & wasn’t sure what this new project would be like. It’s a very different genre but just as much of a page-turner as all her other books. If you’ve never read an Erin Jensen book, I’d highly recommend you check her out.

What a wonderful inspiring book this is! I love how Erin tells Abigail's story with moving songs as chapter titles that reflect the moods and actions of her characters. How wonderful that the proceeds are going to such a worthy cause! Can't wait for Erin's next book!

Fantastic story. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the playlist along with each chapter. The songs brought an added element of enjoyment in reading this book. I couldn't put it down. Have tissues nearby, you will cry.

Tearjerker. I very rarely (maybe 10 or 15 books in my life) cry while reading. About the last 5 chapters of this book had me bawling. If you're a Castiel fan, or a Supernatural fan that likes a quick read or a good playlist, give this one a shot.

Amazing book. The book was amazing! I literally couldnt put it down, so I read it from cover to cover one evening. Even if you aren't a supernatural lover, this book is still worth the purchase and read.

Heart felt, amazing, thought provoking. It’s hard to write a review for a book that had you ugly crying within the first two chapters. I have previously devoured the first three books in Erin A. Jensen’s Dream Water series so when she approached me about reading something of hers that was different, a book that all the proceeds go to charity, how could I say no?

This book has a lot of basis back to the show Supernatural, I for one have never seen the show at all and did not feel left out at all. There is also a pretty kick butt playlist to go along with this book if you would like to add it to your handheld device

Fangirl reading.
I’d rate this 4.5 for Misha fanatics, 3.5 for anyone else. It’s perfect for those doomed romance folk: Romeo and Juliet, Thorn Birds, Heathcliff....

A hard to put down page turner! I received a copy of Benevolent in exchange for my honest review.

Erin Jensen’s writing is not only engaging but incredibly well thought out. From the first page to the last, she makes sure that the reader is consistently connecting with her characters, so much that you don’t want to put the book down.

Her book is incredibly well written and captured my attention from the very first few sentences.

I highly recommend this book to any fellow book worm who is looking for a hard to put down, easy to read page turner

Amazing book! Great read! This book came to my attention because of a Creative quest that was put in to action. It held my attention non stop. I recieved an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I plan on purchasing an additional copy as well. Erin has a way of bringing all the characters to life for you! I highly recommend this book! I had such a hard time finishing the last 50 pages because I didn’t want it to end. I laughed, I cried and I smiled. The book takes a part of you!! This author is absolutely amazing and you won’t regret reading it, you will regret not reading it!

A beautiful story with a fun music element. highly recommend this book. It is a beautiful story about a woman looking back through her life that made me cry every time I read it. I have never read a book that had a playlist to listen to while you read the book and I LOVED that element to the story! Incorporating music with the book added so much to the story for me. This is my honest review on an ARC I received of this book.

A supernatural hit. I love this author’s Dream Water series, so naturally I had to read her newest project. I am a supernatural fan, so I love how she encorporated the beloved angel, Castiel, from the tv series. It’s a book of love, loss and undying friendship. Ms. Jensen has, once again, delivered. I look forward to her next project.

Tear jerker. My 13 loves this book so far. She says "I can't stop crying Mommy, it's so good". She's halfway through with the book and I can't wait to get my hands on it to read it myself. This is the first time I've seen my daughter cry over a book because it was so good.
