Beware the Ides of March: A Novel Based on Psychic Readings by Bruce Miller introduces Ron Dalton, who is behind bars in the Miami-Dade County jail for a murder he did not commit. Ron lost his wife and most of his money. If the case is not thrown out of court, he will get the death penalty. All this happened because of a fortune teller. Twenty-six years ago, the mother of Ron’s girlfriend read his fortune. She told Ron that a young woman might die because of him in the future. Ron had completely forgotten about the prophecy. While flying to the Bahamas on a fishing trip, Ron saw a woman's face, and he remembered the prophecy, although he could not recall the details of the reading. Ron fights with himself, tormented, and tries to stop the killing as other unexpected and terrifying things happen.

Beware the Ides of March by Bruce Miller is thrilling and enjoyable. The story is original and exciting and is based on a true account of a psychic foretelling the future, which makes this book all the more compelling and intriguing. It was fast-paced and challenging to put down. The characters were authentic and relatable. I believe that there is a psychic reality and that governments, law enforcement, and large organizations all use psychics at some point. Two stories involving the DEA and an innocent attorney are intertwined in a brilliant finish that leaves room for a second book. It is a gripping thriller with a fitting end.
