Beyond the Yellow Door by Jane E. Ruth is a bilingual kids' adventure story. Yihana has come to stay with her aunt and uncle. A city girl from British Guyana, she is intrigued by their farm in the country. She adores spending time with the animals and has the time of her life. When her cousin tells her a story of spooky noises behind a yellow door in an abandoned farmhouse, Yihanna's curiosity is aroused, and she wants to investigate, but she's scared. When she finally overcomes her fear, she opens the door, and what a surprise she gets!

Beyond the Yellow Door by Jane E. Ruth is a wonderful kids' book with some amazing illustrations that bring the story to life before your eyes. It's written in English and Spanish and contains some useful and interesting facts about British Guyana. It is a fun story and educational, as it teaches kids about gardening, the importance of biodiversity, and the role of butterflies and ladybugs in the garden. The author clearly has a great deal of talent, and I love that it is written in two languages, widening its audience and making it more inclusive. The story also teaches kids to face their fears and not give up when everything seems against them. This book should be part of school curricula worldwide, an educational yet fun story that kids will find easy to read and learn from.

Beyond the Yellow Door by Jane E. Ruth begins with Yihana's visit to her aunt and uncle's farm during her summer break. Yihana is a sweet child who is always curious. She adored listening to her cousin's stories every day, but one story caught her attention. It was about the empty farmhouse next door. This story attracted her because of the mysterious yellow door at the end of the farmhouse kitchen. Her cousin could not describe what was found on the other side of the yellow door as she was too afraid to open it due to the strange noises she heard every time she went near it. Yihana decided to take matters into her own hands. She was determined to find out what was behind the yellow door. Follow the curious Yihana as she attempts to discover the truth Beyond the Yellow Door.

Jane E. Ruth's Beyond the Yellow Door is a delightful story filled with simple but charming and colorful illustrations. The pictures illustrated by César Meléndez perfectly complemented the story and brought it to life. The fascinating narrative was told in English and Spanish, which helped broaden my Spanish knowledge. This book will teach children that while new experiences seem frightening, we can find things that make us happy beyond those scary facades. Yihana's perseverance and bravery were admirable; she helped children understand that curiosity can help them grow. The book also emphasizes the importance of overcoming fear to learn new things. Solving mysteries and unexpected discoveries can also be an exciting adventure. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Excellent work!

Beyond the Yellow Door by Jane E. Ruth is the story of a young city girl named Yihana who visited her aunt, uncle, and cousin on their farm during summer. Being the curious girl she was, her uncle explained that there were no butterflies and ladybugs because the local farmers used bug spray to kill other harmful insects. But in the process, they also killed butterflies and ladybugs, even though ladybugs controlled the destructive insects in her uncle’s garden. Of all her cousin Abigail’s stories, she most enjoyed the one about the empty farmhouse next door, which had a yellow door at the far end of the kitchen. Intrigued by the yellow door and curious to discover what was behind it, Yihana made several attempts to find out. Yihana’s family would soon learn what her curiosity had led to this time.

Beyond the Yellow Door by Jane E. Ruth is an adventurous, colorful, lighthearted, and well-written children’s storybook about the wonders we can discover through curiosity. Yihana is a relatable young girl, who is smart, funny, curious, brave, and persistent, all fantastic qualities that parents should encourage in their children. She is also a relatable character, as many children will see qualities of themselves in Yihana. This is a meaningful book in which the author shares the benefits of curiosity with children, inspiring them to ask many questions, explore, and learn what incredible discoveries it could lead to. The illustrations are bright and beautiful, complementing the refreshing storyline perfectly.
