Boss From Hell by Laurie Bell is a mystery suspense novel that you do not want to put down. Hate your job? You can’t hate it more than Mig hates hers. Mig Solder loves lists and plans, but nowhere in her five-year plan does it mention losing her job of five years, or getting a new job the same day. Her salary may be three times that of her previous job, but there are a lot of oddities going on in her new job that are way above her paycheck. For starters, her new boss gives her the creeps, none of her co-workers have been here longer than five months, and Mig has no idea what the company does. The pay is good, but it doesn’t prepare her for the fact that three of her predecessors suddenly went missing without a trace, and Mig is next. As Mig digs deeper, what she finds might cost her her soul.

I couldn’t put Boss From Hell down! It is one of those stories that makes you want to know what’s going on, but at the same time, you do not want it to end. I enjoyed the tension in Mig’s workplace as well as the danger she was in. Whatever your theories about the missing girls are, Laurie Bell masterfully shifts from a suspense-filled mystery to an action-packed paranormal novel. Get ready for séances and demons, hot neighbors, best friends, and badass grandmas; it's engrossing from beginning to end, and you won’t want to skip any pages.
