David Berens provides nine principles in his book, Break Point: 9 Life Lessons from the Tennis Court, to help people get their lives back on track and start afresh with a new beginning. What are the 9 principles, you may ask? Let me tell you. First, there is "A Good Place to Start," followed by "Slow Down and Make a Plan," and "Be Consistent." These lessons are told in a story perspective with the character of Whit Andrews, who is having trouble with his tennis game. The next three are "You Are Not Alone," "Just Deal With It," and "No Looking Back." The final three lessons are "Setbacks - Believe," "Momentum," and finally "Using The Lessons Learned." In these chapters, Whit's dad tells him, "There's only one way to eat an elephant, son, one bite at a time."

Interwoven into the stories are some excellent quotes from inspirational leaders, athletes, and other famous people. Berens also provides questions for consideration throughout this book. Those who feel broken, lost, or defeated will certainly relate to this book and could find inspiration to turn their lives around using the nine principles laid out in Break Point - 9 Life Lessons from the Tennis Court. Berens certainly has the coaching experience to help readers through the mental aspects of what is keeping them down and to start their life anew.
