Twenty-three-year-old Ophelia was a beautiful copygirl who was unlucky with men. They stood her up on dates or never returned after the first meeting. Her romantic life revolved around one-night stands or friends with benefits, and she was getting tired of it. Once again, Ophelia went on a blind date at a restaurant with Henry, the son of her mother’s friend. Unfortunately, he stood her up. But she became friends and more with Treyton, the chef at the restaurant. Then Henry waltzed back into Ophelia’s life, and everything was good for some time. However, things went south in a short while, throwing Ophelia into the depths of pain. Who will be by her side when she emerges? Henry or Treyton? Find out in Breaking Through To You by Alyssa Milani.

Breaking Through To You by Alyssa Milani is an intense novel that navigates relationships and everything in between. It showed anger, parental coddling, selfishness, abuse, love and romance. I would recommend this book to people suffering from domestic abuse but do not have the will to leave. You will gain the strength to rise and rewrite your story. I loved the authenticity of this story, which showed that even the toughest of people aren’t immune to abuse. The plot and development were also fantastic. I saw the ills of parents staying in toxic relationships, child coddling, and the aftereffects. Georgia ruined her son so much that he remained tied to her apron strings and transferred his anger to innocent people. My favorite character was Ophelia, and what happened at the end made me cry. We must never make excuses for abusers. Leave to live! I am waiting eagerly for part two.
