Breaking Through To You by Alyssa Milani is an intense novel that navigates relationships and everything in between. It showed anger, parental coddling, selfishness, abuse, love and romance. I would recommend this book to people suffering from domestic abuse but do not have the will to leave. You will gain the strength to rise and rewrite your story. I loved the authenticity of this story, which showed that even the toughest of people aren’t immune to abuse. The plot and development were also fantastic. I saw the ills of parents staying in toxic relationships, child coddling, and the aftereffects. Georgia ruined her son so much that he remained tied to her apron strings and transferred his anger to innocent people. My favorite character was Ophelia, and what happened at the end made me cry. We must never make excuses for abusers. Leave to live! I am waiting eagerly for part two.
