Bubbly By The Sea by B. K. Sweeting is an aesthetic collection of short poems with diverse themes. It will take readers on an exciting journey that will pull them into the poems to feel, see, and learn. The collection has been divided into two sections, Head and Heart, and will mesmerize readers with the messages of hope, self-encouragement, and love. The poet's wordplay and eye in capturing emotions and surroundings, and expressions using metaphorical interpretations, create a variety of moods and give lucidity to the images she weaves into her poetry.

B. K. Sweeting's love for the sea is tangible in this collection and she conveys good messages through the two themes of Head and Heart. Though the themes dealt with in the poems are complex, the poet's exquisite wordplay makes them magical. Along with the illustrations, this collection is any poetry lover's delight. I also love the way in which she combines nature and human emotions together in most of the poems, and having illustrations make it all enchanting and dreamy. Bubbly By The Sea is one of the best poetry collections I have read in recent times. The language used, the images she has tried to create using her words, and the minimalist approach have all contributed to her fabulous work. I loved the collection and I am in love with the poet's style!

Organized into two parts, head and heart, Bubbly By The Sea by B. K. Sweeting is a heartfelt collection of poems that explores fun, heart-warming, and serious themes. Whimsical poems in the work blend playful lines with encouraging messages such as the poem “Sweet Chroma” which contains the lines: “Mocha, caramel, toasted beige/ I see you, in so many lovely shades.” Poems about nature capture its beauty and give a sense of tranquillity such as the poem “Ageless Lilies,” a poem about the simple joys of summer. Other poems explore in-depth topics such as “Anonymous,” a poem that celebrates women of every culture; “Vine, Conquisté,” a poem about equality and the value of an education; and “Wildfire” which recounts the heart-rending experiences of victims of wildfires. Other poems in the second part explore themes such as romance, solitude, inclusivity, letting go, and more.

The collection is engaging and uplifting. Its diverse themes explore relevant issues. Other aspects such as language and structure are also well-executed. Many poems in Bubbly By The Sea by B. K. Sweeting are preceded by engaging monochrome illustrations. I loved that the images are soft additions to the collection. They hint at the topics which the poems explore. The collection’s language is easy-to-understand, even for poems that examine complex themes. The rhyming verses add a touch of fun to the collection and make it easy to remember its messages. The two parts of the collection explore different types of topics but they are both written in similar language and they are uplifting. Overall, the collection’s coverage is extensive. It addresses current events and topics which any reader will relate to. Bubbly By The Sea by B. K. Sweeting inspires hope and love through its powerful and delightful themes.

Bubbly by the Sea by B. K. Sweeting is a collection of the author's original poetry. Divided into two distinct parts, part one focuses on matters of the head and part two devotes itself to matters of the heart. The poems are mostly written in freestyle with intermittent and varied use of rhyme, usually in slant and end rhymes. The work covers a broad range of topics, such as 100 Million, a piece from the first part of the anthology that speaks of the toll injustice and subjugation take on Native American and First Nation experiences. On the other side of this coin in part two, the poem Visitor is written with brevity in a simple but poignant ode to a love that only now survives in a dream; the final line tipping its hat to the book's title.

B. K. Sweeting does a wonderful job of balancing two dimensions of poetry in Bubbly by the Sea. Like most true art forms, poetry is deeply personal and incredibly subjective, which often makes it difficult to review, particularly when a reader can sense bite-sized pieces of an author's journey and experiences within the work itself. I think what makes Sweeting's work so comfortable to read is that it is pretty simple and straightforward with very little required to decipher its meaning. That's not to say the poems lack depth, only that the chosen format creates a good place to start for readers who may be new to poetry reading. I really enjoyed the sketches sprinkled throughout the book and the collection of one-liner quotes that precede and follow the poems. I am certain, as a whole, that Bubbly by the Sea will have a little something for everyone who reads it to enjoy.
