Can You See What Eye See? Envision a Better You and a Better World by M. Chere Sampson is the product of her powerful and enlightening sessions with her group and individual clients. Aptly regarded as a “tool lady,” Sampson has spent time studying people and identifying the obstacles that hinder them from living fulfilling and happy lives. She offers each chapter as a tool or guidelines to help us align ourselves with a more rational and positive outlook. She applies age-old philosophies and sage-like wisdom to make us stop and think about our human condition and about the importance of the mind and body congruence so that we can harness the ability toward better judgment before springing into action. She looks at stress as a component that builds resilience, as most of us are unaware of how to use it and thus we break and give in.

One of the things that makes this book helpful and encouraging is that Ms. Sampson cares. Think of Can You See What Eye See as a session for readers coming together under the guidance of a professional therapist, to work on improving their lives. It is not just the work of one person’s intuition. It reflects M. Chere Sampson’s observations and conclusions based on real people in search of answers. While it’s true that each of us is unique in our own struggles, this book assures that we do not have to face our challenges alone. It helps us become aware of troubleshooting our own feelings and needs. Can You See What Eye See is especially helpful to those experiencing social anxiety, isolation, depression, and life transition.
