What's going on? It's Carlo the mouse in his mischievous adventures in Hospitalia, a strange place. Carlo the Mouse, Book 3: What's Going On? by Mrs. D is a part of the Carlo the Mouse series. This beautifully illustrated children's book will keep your child laughing and entertained as they encounter the cook, the exterminator and the manager along with Carlo on his search for food. When Carlo finds himself hungry, he wanders throughout the hospital rooms, but his first stop is in the kitchen where he orders a burger. He is puzzled as to why the cook is angry that he's there, and now must continue to run for his life as they all work diligently to get rid of him. As he continues to evade their grasp, he is reminded of his parents' warning to follow the rules in order to learn how to survive on his own. Now he wonders ... will this be enough?

This is a beautiful, fun and engaging story and knowing that there is a whole series for children to enjoy makes it a more entertaining picture book experience. Here are some other books in the series from Rules For A Reason, Nothing Is Safe in a Mouse’s Life, It’s My Life and Now We’re Talking Too Many Rules for One Little Mouse that I'm sure you will enjoy. It is highly suggested to start with Book 1 to catch up, but regardless of where you start, you and your child are in for a treat. Help start building your child’s library today with any of the books written by Mrs. D.

ROLE REVERSAL
In the third book of the Carlo the Mouse series, little Carlo finds himself trapped in the office of the hospital manager. He can still hear the chef and his kitchen staff outside the door desperately trying to get inside. Meanwhile, Carlo has been thinking about how he should have heeded his parent's warnings to remain in the busy emergency room where he would not be noticed. The manager calls the exterminator; Carlo is sure that his time his up. That is until he realizes that the manager is afraid of mice. The manager and exterminator attempt to lure Carlo into a baited cheese trap, but he is too clever. When the door opens, Carlo flees to the X-ray room where he and a patient receive a surprise diagnosis. How will Carlo get out of danger this time? The answer lies in Book 4 of the series.

Beginning readers will enjoy reading the adventure while studying the bold colors and vivid expressions on the illustrations that accompany each page. This feature also makes the book appealing to reluctant readers. Undoubtedly, many young readers will see themselves as they follow the curious, clever, and funny little mouse who wants to follow the rules but cannot resist a good adventure by disobeying them once in a while.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and voluntarily decided to review with my honest opinions for no compensation.

Thank you Mrs. D. for giving me "Carlo the Mouse, Book 3: What's Going On?" in an exchange for an honest review.
This story is so funny as Carlos just wants to find a safe place and, of course, get a great meal. The scene in the manager's office was hilarious along with when Carlos gets in the X-Ray room. Readers and parents will laugh and laugh at this darling story. The illustrations once again do a great service to Mrs. D's book three of "Carlos the Mouse."

I read book three in this adorable book series for children. One little mouse has so many adventures and children can will enjoy each and every entertaining page. As I read, I caught myself raising my eyebrows in surprise and smiling over a funny part. Truly kids ages 3 -10 will love this story and the entire series would make any library proud. The illustrations are adorable and capture each person/component of Carlo’s adventures are perfect. Highly recommended and a solid 10 but of course I can only give five stars.
