Author Biography

MK Lynn is an industrial security professional with over twenty-five years of experience partnering with executive teams of Fortune 500 companies. MK holds a MS in Security Administration and a BA in the Management of Human Resources. Moreover, she is both a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Certified Protection Professional (CPP). MK began her career as a law enforcement officer in Detroit, MI, and after multiple career progressions, she ultimately accepted a private sector position focusing on Crime Prevention. MK is a wife and the mother of an amazing daughter. When she's not designing and reviewing systems for safety and security, MK spends her time reading, cooking, golfing, and conducting warrior princess exploits. MK explains that she was inspired to write the book because she witnessed people going through some of the same difficult circumstances she faced involving marriage, children, careers, etc., and she jokes about Carpet Fit for A King being the cheat sheet on how to come out on the other side, so to speak.

MK Lynn blends her faith journey with reassuring biblical teachings and offers practical wisdom for personal and business growth in her work Carpet Fit for a King. Growing up in a family business, Lynn learned the value of business ownership from her father. Later, she left her leadership role at a global Fortune 500 retail company and started a carpet mill business with her husband. Lynn chronicles her journey of faith and the lessons she gleaned while running the business. The work also draws insights from other life-defining events including Lynn’s husband’s life-threatening medical emergency, the couple’s move from Michigan to California, a real estate meltdown, their leaving formal jobs, and the 2008 economic recession and its impact on business.

While covering these events, the work pauses and evaluates each of them from a biblical standpoint. The result is a book packed with many faith lessons that can be applied in personal, business, and career life. The work challenges its audience to apply faith in their lives and not just rely on worldly systems. I loved how each experience included is matched with a corresponding verse or teaching. I also found the couple’s resilience inspiring and learned from their experiences which include taking risks and refusing to give up despite facing daunting obstacles throughout their lives. The exploration of what the term 'kingdom' means in a biblical context is eye-opening. Carpet Fit for a King by MK Lynn is an enlightening work with actionable faith-based lessons for daily living.

MK Lynn shares marketplace funding for the Gospel in Carpet Fit for a King. MK shares her life story and how God worked the details out to lead her and her husband, Clint, into marketplace funding of the Kingdom. Marketplace funding requires earmarking part of one’s profits to support the Great Commission. MK’s father taught her to dream big; when we dream big, we can accomplish great things for God and His Kingdom. This book covers Clint’s and MK’s time on the police force, working for a major corporation, being adjunct professors, and owning a specialty design carpet manufacturing facility. Throughout the book, MK acknowledges God’s role in their journey. We may make plans, but God directs the path. Giving glory to God and using His life lessons to help others are the crux of this book.

In Corinthians 2, the reader is told that God brings us through circumstances so that we help others go through their circumstances. Clint and MK developed a goal to fund the Kingdom through business ownership. This is an exciting and inspiring story of the provisions and direction of God in the life of His children. One word of warning MK shares is that faith does not make things easy, but it does make things possible. Faith and prayer are emphasized in this book. Seeking God’s will and direction does not guarantee we will never make a mistake or misstep, but it does connect us to His leading. Debt is Satan’s methodology. God’s is faith. Fear is a tool from Satan to hinder the work of the Kingdom. Faith overcomes fear.

MK Lynn was indifferent to the Marketplace Ministry. Combining business and the Gospel did not make any sense to her at first, but the more she learned about it, the more she understood its importance and link to the message of the Great Commission in the Bible. With more resources, the Gospel can spread faster and reach more people. Carpet Fit for a King is Lynn's spiritual and financial journey to fulfilling the Great Commission. Charged with a new purpose and mindset, the author found herself reporting for a new job in California, but something was not right. Her journey to California was full of obstacles, although she managed to reach her destination. When she started work she discovered that her values did not align with those of the company. She abandoned everything and decided to change her course. Follow her journey as she discovered the path to achieve her calling.

Carpet Fit for a King is a refreshing story about the author's journey of transformation. MK Lynn was searching for the right way to fulfill her Gospel calling. She faltered a couple of times but did not lose sight of her goal. She writes about the struggle to differentiate between her wants and the will of God in her life. The author included verses from the Bible in the book, which correspond perfectly with what God wanted her to see and learn. This is a relatable story because we all have a passion to help others but do not know where to start. I believe that Lynn's journey will inspire others to do more to promote the Gospel and fulfill the Great Commission. An amazing story.
