Catalyst begins with a bang. Paco Ramirez decided to have a relaxing after dinner a cigarette, his last. The cigarette was the catalyst. The main character in this suspenseful plot of international intrigue is Kit Harper. He has a 5 year old daughter and his been a widower for five years. He works in advertising. His latest assignment is AUC.

AUC ‘s reputation wasn’t the best. They were responsible for defoliating chemicals that had harmed many. They have found an enzyme that could change not only the way the public views them but the environment and the world. The enzyme (Gaia) is the catalyst to breaking down petroleum based products into usable fertilizer. When something sounds too good to be true…………

Paul Bennett’s Catalyst has an intriguing plot. His lead character Harper faces a decision of ethics, a threat to his daughter and numerous other obstacles in his effort to do what is right. I suspect Bennett has an agenda in Catalyst. He discusses a past medication that affected the lives of many women and children. Big business will do whatever is necessary to make a profit. While this is not a high action plot it is a satisfying read.
