Children of the Toy King by E.A. Rohrmoser is a thought-provoking story about a couple with different goals and aspirations. David and Michal meet at Michal's father's house, who is known as the original King of Toys. They start a forbidden relationship, which is discovered, and they are given the choice to separate, which they do. During this period, they take different paths and find happiness in different things. David becomes ambitious and a threat to the old King, while Michal explores and learns the power of creativity and relationships. When the old King dies, David takes over and reunites with Michal, but their relationship starts to fall apart. Their unspoken words cause a rift between them. David loses favor while Michal desires contentment, but he yearns for her to have more.

Children of the Toy King is the third book in The Pentalogue series by E.A. Rohrmoser. It is an unforgettable read that makes you reflect on your life's choices. The author perfectly tackles essential themes like identity, mental health, and work, emphasizing the differences between wisdom and knowledge, laziness and rest, and ambition and greed. David and Michal have contrasting preferences like music and reading, which foreshadow their differences in communication and personality. David's love for music suggests a more expressive and emotional nature, while Michal's preference for reading indicates a more introspective and intellectual approach. The book has an underlying Christian theme connected to the story of David in the Bible. Characters like Goliath, Bathsheba, Solomon, and many others appear in the story, but it also has modern themes about the game world and social changes affecting us today. This combination makes the story unique and engaging. The paintings at the beginning of every chapter are wonderful elements that give an idea of the content and build suspense. This is a must-read that has many life-changing lessons for everyone.
