Author Biography

After working 42 years, I retired to write books. Confronting the Pitchford Curse is my third book, but my first biography. I never set out the write a biography; my focus has always been on Southern Fiction. But after a presentation at a local club, a 90 year- old lady approached me about writing her biography. She was persistent and complimentary of my previous work (psychologically a good move.) I was in the beginning stages of research for my next book and she hooked me by saying she had promised her husband before he passed away that she would "tell their story, the good and the bad". I was targeted as the vehicle for her to keep that promise.

We worked together for a fun-filled year, her telling stories and showing pictures and memorabilia, and me taking voluminous notes and recordings, and putting it all together, culminating in her treasured Confronting the Pitchford Curse.

I've made a friend and she has kept her promise.
