Conversations with the Pope is an intriguing book by Simon Ioannou discussing reincarnation, and the ordination of women, proposing to see it from a new point of view for the Christian faith. Conversations with the Pope is written as a series of conversations between writer Albert Magnusson and a newly elected pope, John XXIV. It analyzes the scientific discoveries of the last seventy years, the theories of St. Thomas Aquinas (based on a passage from the Bible he quotes incorrectly), and the condemnation of Origen. Ultimately, these discoveries allow Magnusson to object to all possible issues about reincarnation and the traditional assumption against female ordination.

Conversations with the Pope is an inspiring read that will make anyone interested in reincarnation and the Christian faith reflect. Simon Ioannou has a deep understanding of the subject, as evidenced by his ability to use it and express his point of view. I particularly liked that this material, which for non-scholars may be difficult to understand, was used in the form of dialogue. This choice makes the reading much more enjoyable and, since the meetings between Magnusson and the pope are divided into several days, it is possible to read short passages at a time. In addition to these splendid conversations, it is also remarkable to notice Ioannou's negative description of the most conservative forces within the Church. I believe that Conversations with the Pope is a book to be read carefully, and on which it is necessary to reflect in the 21st century.
