Cosmic Dreams by Isabel Scheck is a small collection of poems that center around galaxies, dreams and the power of love. In all, the book includes fifty one-page poems that are titled only by their number within the book. There is no table of contents or index in this manuscript to quickly find the desired poem. Many verses included are four to six lines long, though there is a handful that are shorter or longer than this. Following the main contents of this collection, the author has also included an About the Author section complete with a biography.

I had a great time reading Isabel Scheck’s Cosmic Dreams which is a wonderful collection of themed poetry. The front cover is as simple as it is beautiful, and the love Scheck has for her writing is abundantly clear throughout the collection. This book is steeped in metaphors about the cosmos, comparing them to life and love. While many of the metaphors are deeply thought out, it's not always clear to the reader what the author is trying to convey which could lead to less interest for the casual viewer. The trick with poetry is how extremely subjective it is, and others may end up loving it for that very reason. Make no mistake, Cosmic Dreams is a very well-written book by an up-and-coming author and would be a worthy addition to anyone’s poetry collection and just think how nice that cover will look upon your shelf!
