Sweet or savory, you can’t beat a good homemade pie. We all have our favorites: apple, blueberry, chocolate cream. But there are many more possibilities than the standard fruit and chicken pot pies. For example, how about Raspberry Macadamia Nut pie? Or Strawberry Lemon Pie? Or Cranberry Eggnog Pie? Or Coffee Ice Cream Pie? The bottom line is that there is a seemingly endless list of possible combinations for either a sweet or a savory pie. And the pie crust? It doesn’t have to be the old standard lard and flour mixture, although that still works well for some pies. There are also the Graham Cracker Pie Crust and the Classic Butter Pie Crust. And there are ways to decorate the topping without having to spend hours in the kitchen. Sometimes a simple sprinkling of coconut or cookie crumbs will do. Or how about a smooth chocolate ganache topped with whipped cream?

Amber Richards' new cookbook, series 3 in her award winning recipe series, County Fair Blue Ribbon Winning Pie Cookbook: Proven Enticing Pie Recipe Winners, has a lot of mouth-watering recipes to entice the avid baker and food enthusiast. There are many unusual pie creations that will certainly inspire the creative baker to try experimenting further to produce more unique pies. The book is well presented with easy to follow instructions. The well written instructions for both the wide variety of pie crusts and delectable fillings certainly suggest this as a must-have book for any cookbook collection.
