Cows Might Fly is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Kellie Speechley. Poppy is a young dairy cow that lives in the top paddock. Day after day, Poppy dreams of how wonderful it would be to fly. Suddenly Poppy's fairy cow mother grants Poppy her biggest wish of having wings. Without delay, Poppy flies high over the farm as the other farm animals cautiously observe. Without warning, Poppy suddenly needs to poop. On lower ground, people run and take cover as Poppy farts. Desperately trying to land, she breaks several roofs and treetops. After relieving herself, Poppy takes off again, shocking pilots and passengers on passing planes. Some of the passengers are amused. It briefly enters Poppy's mind that cows flying may be dangerous, but she feels so wonderful up high, being the only cow in the sky. So remember, if you are ever granted your one and only wish, be grateful to receive such a gift.

Oh my goodness, what an adventure! Kellie Speechley's writing and artistic talents took me into the most creatively imaginative place while reading this story. Picturing the bowel movements of a flying cow may hinder my sleeping abilities for a while, but the tears in my eyes from the much-needed laughter it produced were definitely worthwhile. Having a mundane life, only to then have it changed into something so wonderful that it is out of this world would be a wish come true for so many people, both young and old. However, bigger umbrellas would indeed become a necessity down below. I very much enjoyed reading about Poppy's most excellent adventure and recommend it to young audiences over the age of five years. I look forward to reading more of Kellie Speechley's titles in the future.
